tried Hako Sushi, a sushi restaurant that I had heard good things about. However, my experience left me somewhat disappointed and I feel compelled to share my honest review. Firstly, let's talk about the portion sizes. The portions at Hako Sushi were quite average, neither too small nor too large. While this may be satisfactory for some, I personally prefer sushi restaurants that offer more generous portions, as it allows me to fully enjoy the flavors and textures of each roll. Speaking of flavors, I found the taste of the sushi at Hako Sushi to be rather average. It lacked the wow factor that I usually associate with great sushi. I ordered rolls with avocado and mango, but unfortunately, both were hard and not ripe. This greatly affected the overall enjoyment of the sushi. One major issue I encountered was the delivery time. It took over an hour and a half for my order to arrive, which is simply unacceptable in today's fast-paced world. While I understand that delays can happen, such a long wait time can be frustrating, especially when you're eagerly anticipating a meal.

Just ordered first time sushi from Hako, 48 pieces , nice packaging. Sushi looked nice , but didn’t taste good , it was our first experience with Hako , soy sauce probably was the problem, so we changed it with the one we had at home it was little bit better. Not sure if we will order again. Unless you will change the taste of sauce. Thank you

I’m not talking about the taste since I couldn’t differentiate much between them, but I’m talking about the quality of food and how on earth would I be served a mango coated maki’s with the mango being almost green/unriped and crunchy!!!!!!!!!!!! The same for the avocado in some of the pieces !!!!!!!!!!! Despite being cute in a very careless way. Extremely shocked.

Been ordering from them for close to 10 years. My favourite reasonably priced sushi place in Dubai. Portions are large compared to other places and I've always enjoyed the food flavour and quality. Presentation could be better for some dishes, but in my opinion the taste makes up for it. Rice is never overly cooked and fish has always been fresh in my orders. My top picks are Alaska and Manhattan rolls, and Katsu Curry.

This Japanese restaurant is set in JLT next to the man-made lake. It has a wide variety of offerings including hot and cold appetisers, soups, salads, rice dishes, bento boxes, platters, stir fried dishes, noodles, and probably their specialty - sushi and sashimi. The restaurant is quite casually but nicely fitted out. It's not a large restaurant, but combining indoor seating (some with split system air conditioning directly facing some very breezy seats which is better during the summer months), al fresco tables, and outdoor lounge seating by the lake there's quite a lot of options during the cooler months. At present, there's a weekend promotion on Friday to Sunday from 3pm to close where for AED89 plus VAT you can order as much food as you can eat from the menu (except a limit of 10 pieces of sashimi, and excluding a few items such as the black cod miso, platters and bentos). The quality of the sushi is very good for the price you pay under the promotion (regular prices are not that cheap), but a couple of the cooked appetisers were quite average (tempura prawn batter was too heavy and the chicken gyoza a bit bland). If you are hungry, this deal is well worth it.
