Always like to bring my kids to Grand Hyatt for staycation or just a pool/beach day. Nice food and staff are always friendly especially to the kids. My kids made friends with Mr. Hoshiyar at the pool bar, and Mr. Mahmud is also so kind to them. Thank you for giving my children such a nice experience. Definitely will come back more often.More
Drunk guy back to my room door womitting, screaming, fighting. They tried to open my room door until 5 Am. Didn't let me to sleep and I lost my breakfast. When I complain they only changed my room at 6 am and extend my staying until 8 pm. But I lost my sleep and breakfast More
We couldn't ask for a better staycation, hotel very quiet, clean and covid 19 safe. Food was fantastic, the Thai restaurant excedes our expectations as well as the breakfast. Staff was kind and well informed. Will return in the near futureMore
I honestly dont know where to start. I stayed here for two days. The first day in room 476 and then the second day in room 482. For the 2 days I spent around 4000qr including room, room service and outlets. I arrived to the hotel and had to pay a 50qr valet fee, no body to help me with my luggage. My room reservation was for a sea view room, this was communicated prior to me arriving and booking. At the start after waiting 15minutes to check in i was given room 119 which was a garden view...not what I requested. So i went back to reception after 10 more minutes of them running around, i was escorted to the club lounge to wait. I was in the club lounge waiting for 40 minutes with precious beach time slipping away. They then gave me room 476, I walked into the room and there was a spare bed on the floor and a baby cott. Also this room was a pool view and not a sea view. I went down the reception and voiced my concern but nobody seemed to care and told me thats all they had. Keep in mind ive been in the hotel now for over an hour and have not even checked in yet. So i told them to remove the spare bed and baby cott. I walked into the room and there was no amenities, no toothbrush no brush or anything i had to call them to bring it which took 20 minutes. I cant believe they dont check these things before giving the room to a customer. So finally after around 2 hours running around trying to just purely check in I finally got to go to the beach. When i arrived at the beach they did not have any towels. I was standing by the hut for 20 minutes. The guy in the hut asked me for my room number and name. I provided it to him but it was not on the system...we started to argue and i showed him the room card. I found out later that they checked me in as mr Mattar which might have been a previous guest. When the towel came i was already angry about the way i had to argue with the guy to prove i actually had a room here i didnt feel like using the beach. So went to the pool. What a disaster. I went to the santa monica restaurant after, it was ok but slow service. In the night I ordered room service beverages which took around 40 minutes to arrive. Then I ordered some butter chicken. The food was not good, the chicken was not cooked properly and the rice was very hard. I paid for it anyways. No other choice at that time. The next day I moved room to 482, when i walked in, still no amenities, no toothbrush, no brush, no water. (i had to call 2 times just for the water) i mean who is checking these things before the guest enters the room? I went down to santa monica for lunch, but the table i was sitting on last night outside they told me they are not providing service there until the evening. So why open the door? So i took a takeaway from them to eat in the room. They tried to over charge me by 5qr for a side dish which is in the same section as the fries but after an argument they gave me my right. Very sad that i couldn't sit outside and enjoy my meal. Then in the night I wanted 2 diet cokes, they came to my room and i paid for them then looked at the bill and it was 66qr. 66QR for 2 diet cokes? I called them and they refunded me. I then went out to buy them myself. Ive stayed in many hotels here and 66qr for 2 diets cokes is by far the highest ive ever seen. So then in the evening I wanted to order some beverages and i told them before you start making them, i would like them quickly I was not prepared to wait 40minutes like the night before. I waited around 20-30 minutes and they still did not come so I cancelled them, the guy at the end of the phone started speaking to me in an aggressive attitude, i did not feel comfortable ordering anything else from these people and called the duty manager. The duty manager at time for some reason thought that I was the problem, he did not really seem to care and spoke back to me alot. Very unprofessional. He said he will call me back and never did. When i called back after 20 minutes the time was around 2:30 in the morning and some lady answered the phone, she put me on hold for 15 minutes. So i hung up the phone and called again and she said he is checking in a guest. I find that hard to believe as it was 2:30 in the morning and no one was in reception so I told her do you 'do you think I am stupid or something' then immediately the duty manager picked up the phone and started shouting at me saying I was abusing the staff. When i asked how was i abusing the staff, he refused to answer me and slammed the phone in my face. Very nice. I called back after 10 minutes asking for the contact details of the GM/ hotel manager so I could escalate this. He told me he did not have it which turned out later to be a lie. If I was a GM/hotel manager of a hotel and if one of my guests asked for my email, for sure I would like them to have it provided to them whatever the case maybe, why are they holding back the contact email if a paying guests wished to voice their concerns?. So i kept calling and asking, then ultimately around 30 minutes later he gave it to me. This should have been provided at the start. Why do we need all the argument for? You can not treat people like this. I then had to inconvenience myself having to order food from outside as I was very hungry and the duty manager did not want to accommodate me, they never even wanted to bring it to the room when it arrived. Just a total lack of care for the guest. The next day I get woken up at 1pm when I have a 2pm checkout like the day before. I guess that was not in their system. When I was checking out I was voicing my concerns to a lady called olga but she didnt seem to care and didnt speak to me in a polite way, when I said I will be writing this review she told me 'Very good, you are a blogger' Wierd. Also I did not get a single apology when checking out. This is certainly not how you speak to someone who just had a horrible experience. To finish off this review, i would like to say that im totally horrified and traumatized by this experience, and it was not a wise choice for me to choose this hotel to spend my weekend. I hope in the future they learn from this experience and they get some service and communication skills because this is most certainly not how I expect to be treated at a 5 star hotel.More
