I went to dine in the buffet for dinner at Olivos on a Friday night. The price that I was told thru phone was 7 OMR. I asked if I needed a booking since I am just for a walk-in and the reception said I can just go without any reservation. Upon entering the restaurant, 3 staffs were there at the counter and none of then assisted me. So I have to asked them to assist me since I was there for as a walk-in. I choosed my own seat. The chair is not appropriate for the setting of the restaurant since it was so heavy and pulling/pushing it is too noisy. The restaurant was a little dark and the ambience is not inviting. The food were good. Several vegetable salad were offered. As for the main course, one type of chicken and fish were served. 1 type of pasta and 2 types of rice. The soup lentil and malukiya were tasty but it can be more improved. Molukiya can be more thick and should be provided with more greens. The sweets are tasty. Several options are available. Fruits are just fine but the watermelon does not taste fresh. The juice are nice however the staff does not monitor if it is empty. So you have to wait. The hot water was not hot and I even turned on the machine to male it hot. The coffee was not open either. When I requested for a coffee I was surprised that the the staff said they are making it in another area. And it comes with a price. I believe that if it was on the buffet table, therefore it shoul be part of the buffet and not as a separate order (with payment). There are several part of the restaurant that could be improved and enhanced.More
