Would highly recommend this hotel for everyone, especially families. We loved loved the hotel, location, food and staff. Great surrounding beach and a taxi ride isn’t far to the main attractions of Dubai.More
I’m not sure where to start this review but will try and be as open and honest as possible I requested an early check in twice prior to out arrival as we had an overnight flight, I was told to guarantee a room I would need to pay for the night before - however the hotel would do it’s best - on arrival we were told that hotel was fully booked, yet I could have booked the room the night before literally and paid for it ! this set us up for what turned out to me a hotel that was very biased to making money at every opportunity The positives The room - really comfortable, fabulous view The staff in particular Sushil at the flow kitchen - that young man has a great future in hospitality - John , concierge the most charming man always happy to offer advice and so friendly and warmly greeting us every time we went out and returned back BA Boldly Asian for Friday evening brunch - set price of 320 dirhams (£75) per person for unlimited wine or beer and the food and atmosphere was amazing - the best night we had at the hotel but it’s only on a Friday - DJ included Location - it was easy to get around, there are plenty of beach bars - restaurants along the strip, close to the Nakheel Mall - 10 minute walk The negatives Early check in ! just forget it it won’t happen we met so many people who had requested the same and it was never available, we were left to open our cases in reception to pull out some beachwear to wait the 6 hours for our room to be ready Our room wasn’t cleaned by 5pm for 4 out of the first 6 days we were there - we had to call reception and were then asked do you want it cleaned daily ? It’s 5 start hotel ! There really isn’t much of a dining option for half board at lunch time, the half board menu in sea grill is very limited, obviously you can pay supplements for additional items , there is no buffet open and miss India only open a few days for lunch if you want a curry at lunchtime , everything else you have to pay for. You are not allowed to eat or drink on the beach anything not brought from the hotel beach bar - again a money making exercise - £20 for a tiny salad or the same cost for a hot dog - £16 for an Aperol Sptitz Drinks ridiculously expensive - a glass of wine £15 and a pint the same, water at night to dine is £10 a bottle - no free water provided with dinner anywhere - blowfish does a happy 2 hours costing £ 10 for a glass of wine between 6-8pm - forget trying to buy a drink and take it with you to dinner, it’s not allowed The make yourself coffee machine was taken out of the breakfast buffet area as people were making a coffee and taking it to the beach in paper cups with lids - again ridiculous, The hotel set up a fabulous World Cup area outside which took only 3 days to build, all looked great and we were excited to watch it - until we found out you had to pay 300 dirhams to enter even as a hotel resident - you could use the money towards drinks but at 300 dirhams per game that’s approx £75 for one person to watch one football match outside - an option was to have dinner as we did outside in the buffet area which overlooked the screen until they closed the buffet dining outside ! The enclosed area was at maximum 40% full and most matches maybe 20% full, greedy greedy greedy ! They will have to re think this plan ! Pity we couldn’t charge for the noise created by the big screen especially for the 11pm kick off matches - no football in your room tv The towels in the bathroom are like sandpaper Tv channels very limited - only 2 English channels sky news and bbc news I appreciate the hotel is a business to make money but falls way short of a 5 star hotel in my opinion - the buffet was pretty much the same every night, pizza and pasta - cheap - a couple of curry’s - a fairly good salad bar but nothing outstanding I have to say we won’t be returning to this hotel, there are far more superior options in Dubai - we have stayed at 4 different hotels in the last few years and this has to be the worst in terms of costs - rules and regulations, facilities, dining options, and the general feeling of being caught out financially at every possible opportunity Dubai is a magical place - the Fairmont unfortunately isn’t for us . Loved the hotel. Loved the service. Loved the pool the rooms and loved the gold lounge. Vaibhav and Allen were amazing. Food was great, little India was our favourite. Will we come again. Yes 100% to be honest the stay was faultless. Check in and out was easy. Breakfast and dinner with our half board was great every night. When we went out the hotel arranged taxis etc. Room was spotlessly clean daily. Location was great walking distance to other hotels and beach parties ( if you want them) but far enough to not hear them. There was a wedding at the hotel during our stay and other hotels sometimes can't cope with a normal day plus a wedding and the service sometimes drops but this didn't happen and service remained flawless.More
An absolutely faultless stay, everything was amazing. The rooms were big, clean and comfortable - the view from the balcony was breathtaking! The location was perfect and there are always taxis coming to the hotel. The food was gorgeous and there are so many lovely restaurants to choose from. A special thanks to John, Vudura and Rupei Padary so being so kind and helpful during the stay! 100% will be staying there again!More
