I visit here regularly when I am visiting my son. We usually have brunch, but my son is often tempted by one of their lovely specials on the specials board (like smoked haddock risotto with black pudding!). Their coffee is lovely, and we always enjoy the food. It is always lovely to walk in off a cold damp street and be met by friendly staff, and warm up :)Read more

I always regret how long it takes us to return here but the visit of my parents makes it a guarantee. My sisters accuse my mother of coming to Glasgow not to see us but to visit Vincent and Michelle again. Skipped a starter this time to save myself for dessert (more on that genius decision later). Family friendly is a core element of the Bistro and our son got his own portion of pasta with Napoli sauce which was devoured. They always try to accommodate where possible. A great change in the menu is separating the side orders from the mains. Means less wastage and you can tailor your sides to suit. Mains for my parents and I were three slow cooked beef with extras of veg, mash and cauliflower cheese. Wife had chicken Milanese which is her own staple at 279 for the 9 or so years we've been dining here. Rarely can she bring herself to order something new and tonight certainly proved why! Bottle of Pinot Gringo matched well and cheap as well so not to hurt the wallet like other places. The beef fell apart so the only use of the knife was to ladle the sides onto the fork. The gravy is light but packs a flavour punch to marry the meal together. Dessert was a Turkish delight and white chocolate cheesecake... I'll say that again Turkish delight... I'll be the size of a house if they keep that kind of thing up. So smooth to eat and devoured by all at the table in no time as I felt obligated to share. Snowball sundaes, a child's ice-cream and a Michelle's meringue to round of the table of desserts where all inhaled to accurately account for the consumption. I'm looking forward to next time already.Read more
