From the food to the service, everything was perfect. This is certainly one of the best restaurant i’ve been to. Good vibe, nice place, very kind staff. For drinks i recommend : - The Tokyo Mistress (cocktail) For food : - karaage with mayo - bao buns - pork wontons Read more
They kindly arranged for a nice pure vegetarian dinner for us. The standout dish was the soba noddles which is the best I have ever tasted. The entire meal including the eggless desserts were great!Read more

We stayed a week at hotel Fairmont The Palm where Ba is one of a small handful of restaurants. Our visit started out badly as we upon arrival were informed in a curt manner that they had no tables available. That would have been fine, had it not been for the fact that we were not informed upon check-in that we have to book ahead to ensure a table at Ba. That would have been easy enough to do. After some back and forth we asked if we could sit at the bar and it turned out that was ok. Why not offer that up-front? After a few minutes by the bar, all of a sudden a table became available, which of course was nice. But why the missteps on the way there? As several others have pointed out here, the music is very loud and it is difficult to keep a conversation going at most of the tables (the ones furthest away from the big speaker in the bar are almost acceptable). The choice of music makes the problem more accute - screetching saxophone solos that go on forever, noicy modern jazz-inspired dance beats. Hardly right for an Asian cool vibe (although everyone of course decide on that for themselves). The food does not live up to the reputation. It is all perfectly fine - but not acceptable at these prices. Bland is a word that came up a couple of times around the table. We would have expected something memorable but it did not take long ’til the visit had faded with us. A far cry from our visit at Little Miss India next door the day before (exquisite). With regards to the service at the table we felt that it lacked in sensitivity and it was all quite rushed. Different people kept asking if we had finished. The left hand didn’t know what the right had just done. In my experience it is quite obvious when people have finished their course. Don’t ask repeatedly - just observe. In summary you should give this one a miss - perhaps unless you are on half board as a guest at Fairmont).Read more
