Bavaria Brauhaus

Bavaria Brauhaus is Glasgow's very own Munich-style Bavarian beer hall. We decided that we could not do our own Brauhaus justice without bringing all six Munich beers together (The Big 6). We offer live Bavarian-style music, delicious hearty German cuisine as well an outstanding range of German ... More

I was really looking forward to try this place, we ordered the Chicken schnitzels, when it arrived I couldn't believe the portion size, the schnitzel was about 6'' diameter with a small amount of potato salad, a little bit rocket salad and a slice of lemon, bearing in mind this cost nearly £15 each. I cleared my plate in around 5 mins and was still hungry. The food was really nice but If you are going to charge £14.95 you need to be giving decent size portions out for that price!More
There used to be a waitress that worked here, she was beautiful, so friendly and helpful. She had great banter and always was quick and efficient at what she did. She did tell us her name but neither me or my friends are certain (Emily, Emma, Anna?) Something similar. She must’ve been over 6’0 tall and had the prettiest smile. Bring her back!!!! The best way to sell beer is through a woman like that.More
Amazing decor, great service and a superb choice of German Bier to choose from. Staff used to be dressed in the traditional beer hall fashion but have recently been dawning that strict black trouser and shirt look. Sad times as life is gloom and doom with covid already. Hopefully we can get back to normal soon.More
This bar does provide a very spectacular venue as it's very much designed like an authentic German bar, and ticks all the boxes in that respect. The beer menu is extensive and plenty of options for everyone, and the beers I tried were very nice, so all good there. The staff were excellent and efficient. However, the food is a little underwhelming. Whilst our starters where pretty good the currywurst was largely disappointing. The portion size does not match the price paid for it. The sausage itself was more of a hotdog than an authentic German sausage, served with a small pretzel bread roll, and the sauce separate. Nothing like any currywurst I've tried in my travels. Maybe it was a regional take on it. I would still come back for a visit maybe just chose a different dish off the menu.More
We visited the Brauhaus on a Friday afternoon in August. It was quiet when we arrived at 2.30 but quickly got busy. It has a great selection of beer, including fruit beers, and also seemed to have a good wine list and cocktail offering. We shared a platter of Bavarian classics and it was tasty and good value, with a lot of food for £16 - plenty to fill up 2 people. The venue itself is lovely and a classy take on the Bavarian beer hall. Service was a little slow (took a long time to get someone's attention so we could pay) but all in all a good experience. More
