What a lovely afternoon spent with my wife at the Blockhouse Kitchen, from receiving a warm response to confirm our booking by Melody this already made us feel welcomed. The atmosphere was cozy and warm. The staff was so welcoming to have us. We absolutely loved our meals and this lead us to try the delicious desserts. We will definitely be back with our family, yes they are kid friendly and with our friends!

I love their breakfasts so much! We often visit in the morning but they do have a great mac and cheese too. I love their decor, service and drinks. It is close to other places on the farm too. Their cheese board is a winner too. Please check out the amazing Garden before you leave

We, a party of 13, were celebrating my mom's 82nd birthday as well as the internment of my dad's ashes on the day. So we were looking for a special venue. Some of us had been to BK before and agreed the venue would be appropriate and up to the occasion. We were expecting the same this time. Cody, our waiter, was a brilliant 'host' and server and he was open to conversation and good humoured banter. We thoroughly enjoyed his demeanor. The food, however, across our various meals, was average, at best. It was a real disappointment. The lamb shank was tiny and not well seasoned. The pasta, my son challenged, was less tasty and flavoursome than his homemade, amateur version. We all agreed that our respective meals were not up to scratch. And it's not that we factored in cost to = 'better'. The ice-cream sandwich dessert offered some redemption, though. All in all, I don't think we will be back for a family lunch date. My wife and I had previously enjoyed the breakfasts and may come back for that, on our own.

We visited on 30 September 2023. Was disappointed with the quality of the food, no wow factor at all. We ordered fish and chips which is a very basic meal, expected to have fresh fish, but received previously frozen fish which was very chewy and had no taste at all, the chips was the best part of the meal. Pulled pork pasta had very little meat, lacked flavour, very bland tomato flavour. I don't see what the big hype is about this place, their food lacks alot of flavour.

Arrived 30 minutes before closing but they made an effort to accommodate us and despite staff shortages due to taxi strike as well. We did the Constantia Uitsig wine tasting which is presented at the table by your server. We ordered some small plates, I had the liver and my wife and the mussels. Both were excellent. I also asked for the hand cut fried... I love hand cut fries and these were amazing. The cheese cake was so amazing as well.
