We were having dinner in this place and we will come back. The portions were great and also tasty. The decoration of the place is wonderful and also the atmosphere. I have never been in a Russian restaurant so it was a great surprise to find this one in Glasgow. Read more
Went to this place last week with my friends, I was pleasantly surprised with the food and vodka. Surely we'll be back again.Read more
I am very dissapointed. We came specially from Edinburgh to visit the restaurant. I had confirmed if I would be able to use taste card which was confirmed. The waiting staff was very friendly and attentive and I will give 5 star for them. Unfortunately dishes got only Russians names. Pelmeni make frome frozen, meat inside looks like dog food can, lamb shaslik- terrible quality of meat, vey chewy and very dry! Tomato sauce on the side tasted like tin tomatoes mixed with extra sugar and some herbs! The only good product were vodkas shots as they were chilled as should be. And now the best, our bill for 2 people in the second category bar was £74.00 which is fairly decent bill for such a bar which pretend to be restaurant, however we booked through the taste card 2 for 1 When it came to paying it turned out as our nibble which was bread was charge as promo, our starters were charged as normal, main course had offer but again desserts were charged as normal. I do not mid to pay, but I hate to be mislead. I will be taking this further just to prove stubborn owner who sells second category food and also processed ready food from shop by giving only Russian names! I thought this only happens in Eastern Europe but surprise, this type of businessman is here too. Avoid, avoid, avoid!Read more
We have eaten here a few times before and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. However, our most recent visit was a disappointment. We tool advantage of a Groupon offer - the menu had a reasonable choice for our two course meal. However, the food that arrived at our table was not exactly what we ordered. My pork with chips instead of potatoes au gratin made for a very dry meal. I raised this with the waitress who was frankly uninterested. She offered me some 'sauce' for my chips but couldn't be more specific. The waiter/barman asked if we had enjoyed our meal so I told him I was disappointed with my food. He was marginally more interested and said he would arrange for the manager to call me the next day. Needless to say, he didn't. Therefore, I called the manager who said he hadn't called me as he didn't know what it was about! His manner was very casual. He said he would be able to offer a free drink or similar the next time we visit but was not specific. If we don't go back for, say, 4 months I have no confidence this offer would materialise! I asked him to drop me an email to confirm exactly what he could offer. I am still waiting...... All in all, average food and poor service.Read more
I've been to this hidden restaurant with my boyfriend for dinner and we both really liked it and can't wait to go back. I went there after the recommendation of a Polish friend. The food was great - I had vegetarian russian dumplings with cheese and potatoes and the portion was huge, I was so full-up later. Really liked the russian coffee with whipped cream and the crepe for dessert. We found our Italian host very friendly and helpful, he recommended us the best dishes!! Too bad we had to rush the dessert because we had booked the cinema and risked running late...Read more
