We visited Claypot restaurant in Citymax Hotel in Mankhool recently for a team lunch. The restaurant is located next to the reception, and offers tasty Indian cuisine. What it's most well-known for are its thalis: both vegetarian (AED 25) and non-vegetarian (AED 35). We opted for the non-vegetarian thali and were not disappointed at all. Before the thali, we were each served a tasty glass of lassi. The thali came with rice, pooris, a chicken tikka, daal, chicken and fish curries and a vegetable. Each and every dish tasted awesome; the fish being the pick of the bunch. The quantity was such that we could not take a refill, even though we wanted too! The service was top notch; kudos to the staff for the same. Some pleasing Bollywood tunes were being played, which made our occasion even more enjoyable. One can even get a pint for AED 25, which is not bad considering it's Dubai! Would love to come here again.Read more
Claypot has meticulously crafted the menu to reflect the culinary traditions of authentic Indian cuisine. The new menu offers a variety of options for all the desi food lovers! The restaurant is located on the ground floor of Citymax hotel, Bur dubai. It exhibits vibrant surroundings along with creating a fab ambience with live Bollywood singing. We started off with trying Dahi Batata Puri from their Chaat section and a Vegetarian Kebab platter for starters. The chaat was well made, super juicy with the perfect amount of yoghurt and spices! The Vegetarian Kebab platter included 2 pieces each of Dahi Kebab, Paneer Pudina Tikka, Bharwan Aloo and Tandoori Momos. Dahi Kebab:Seasonal hung curd with roasted cumin and spices, deep fried to golden brown. Dahi kebabs are my fav and definitely on my go to list wherever available. This one was a good take as well; however, I’ve had better dahi kebabs previously. Paneer Pudina Tikka:These homemade cottage cheese kebabs marinated with mint and slow cooked in clay oven, was THE BEST appetizer in this platter. The paneer was SUPER soft and tasted absolute fresh. A must have snack on your visit! Bharwan Aloo:Potatoes stuffed with raisins, nuts and cottage cheese – this was a delicious appetizer! Well cooked, these potatoes went well along with the mint chutney served. Tandoori Momos: These Himalayan vegetable momos were eabsolutely delectable. With the right level of spice and stuffing – it was one of the best starters on the platter. Moving on to the mains, we called for the Subz Biryani and Subz Nu Rattan Korma. Subz Nu Rattan Korma was a melange of spring vegetable in a rich creamy gravy. A must try for all the vegetarians! The Subz biryani was a biryani filled with veggies and mincd greens. It was served along with a bowl of raita which was just as a cherry on top of a cake. This aromatic biryani is definitely worth trying! The place also offers an array of Indian desserts. We tried out their Zafrani Rasmalai amongst the others. This one’s a Bengali delicacy of cottage cheese in a saffron infused sweetened cream, topped with pistachios! The rasmalai was scrumptious and not too sweet – just the perfect taste! All in all, the place is worth a visit for the mouthwatering traditional Desi food, the warmth of which is reflected in their welcomingRead more

Nice ambience. Had a small play area for the kid. We went for lunch. They offer all you can eat thali both veg (25 aed) and non veg (35 aed). For another 10 aed you will get a half pint. Food is ok. In the thali we had rice, roti, veg, dal, chicken tikka, a gravy chicken, fish and sweet dish. Service is slow but it was relaxing and we were done in an hour. Read more
