Happened by here for a quick drink before we went for dinner elsewhere, however once we saw the food we wished we had booked dinner here as it looked great! But also the atmosphere was lovely - great balance between being busy with people but not too loud, great for couplesMore
Came here today with my Mum while out shopping. Staff were very understanding and educated when it came to gluten free options and went through the menu with me explaining what dishes I could have, and what could be adapted.
I had the vegan burger with a gluten free brioche bun which was delicious. Even the vegan cheese which can sometimes be very bland was lovely.
The only negative would be the price- £14.50 for fish and chips is a tad expensive although my mum thoroughly enjoyed it.More
This place to eat was chosen by friends that live in the area and who we were visiting. We arrived to a group of tables outside and it looked more like a pub than somewhere to eat. We were shown inside and met up with our friends. After a while we were shown to a table. It was one of those high tables you would find in a bar. But that was because the restaurant area was full. However where we were was comfortable enough. The service was good and attentive. The food we ordered was to be honest very good. Better than I have eaten more recently in places that charge double. The whole experience surprised us as we walked away feeling contented and happy. I am sure that anyone else that goes here will feeel the same way.More
I have always enjoyed my experience at element and had a lovely dinner. However the only establishment in Edinburgh that I know of that services charges every table is The Ivy and they are very open about the fact so fair. I have no issue when it comes to leaving a tip and always do what I do have an issue with however is sneakiness don’t add a service charge to my bill and then let me tip on top of this on my card clearly unaware this wasn’t necessary for me to do as it was already included. If you are going to service charge every table be open about the fact and make it clear otherwise it’s just not cool.More
My husband, daughter and I had dinner in element tonight and (pun intended) we were in our element!
Our dinner was quite simply lovely - my daughter and I had steak which was impeccably cooked. Hubby who is never full was stuffed after his starter of soup followed by fish and chips “to die for”.
The service was excellent. Anytime we visit Edinburgh we eat at element but the service on this visit excelled all others! The staff are friendly and efficient.
In line with current protocols re, covid 19 the staff were on the ball and helpful! Customers were required to wear masks at all times except when seated - all establishments should be doing the same in my opinion!
Our Edinburgh trips would not be complete without a trip to Element.
