Hudson’s was perfect for a relaxed family get together. The waffle milkshakes was out of this world. Burgers were outstanding and the service was fast and friendly. Well done! Music was slightly, at the risk of sounding boring, a little on the loud side. For holding conversations. Fantastic location on Kloof st.Read more
Worst service I’ve seen in a while, sitting here writing this while the waiters ignore me. Most of them including the manager are glued to the tablets and phones at the bar. Our order of 2 hamburgers and 1 order of fries took 45 min (!!!) to arrive and was served after that of customer who arrived after us. I was served regular fries when I ordered sweet potato fries, manager insisted that these were just a “white variety of sweet potato”, which also happened to not be sweet or have the texture or flavour of a sweet potato. At the prices they charge it really isn’t acceptable. Next time I’ll stick to Royale down the road. Avoid!Read more

Recommended this place to a good friend and client after enjoying Hudsons in Green Point (It's a chain). I have never complained about any dining experience in my life. After working in hospitality for 11 years I understand the challenges. Sat down, waited for was at 50% capacity, Tuesday evening around 7pm. I had to grab a waitress wearing a checker shirt after she chatted to her friends who was leaving and order our beer and food. After waiting 5-10min, with a quiet bar, we started looking for our waitress who was nowhere to be found. I stood up and saw our beer standing at the waiter station of the bar, I walk over and fetch it myself. My friend gets up to visit the loo (very relaxed and social character). To go to the loo you walk past the kitchen. On his return he says "let's pay for the beer and get out of here bro, you don't want to see the state of the kitchen". Dirty mop next to the fryer, stale cheese visible in passing. I say "shame no, food should be almost done, but we have been waiting long...again...and I'm starving, if it does not arrive in 5min we pay for the beer and leave". About 5min later we ask to cancel our order, another waiter, who is apparently serving us now says the food is literally being plated and on the way. We get our food, 2 slider burger dishes, and the bread is so stale I can not swallow least 6 days old. I try to eat it but decide just to eat the toppings off (which was great by the way). I am now visibly irritated. The manager, who is sitting at the back table enjoying his dinner at peak time on a Tuesday, notices my discomfort and send a waiter to my table. I tell her about my experience and that I do not want to complain because I hate complaining, I let her feel the stale burger bread which she agrees feels like a rusk! She informs the manager who just slapped a 20% discount on our bill and went to sit down again. The "manager" did not come and apologise, he just walked past us and left the venue. The waitress at the end was very nice and apologetic. I will never return, nor will my friend and client.Read more
