Just experienced the roast at lock stock for the first time and it surpassed the amazing things we had heard. It was fresh, delicious, lathered in gravy and accompanied by home made Yorkshire puddings which melted in the mouth. Thanks to Nicola who couldn’t have done enough for us. Outstanding customer service and beautiful food....the perfect Saturday! A must try.More
I went there with 3 other friends on Friday 28th May 2021. We are all black btw. There were 2 hostesses at the entrance (one Asian and one Caucasian with pinkish hair wearing a black polka dot dress) and just before it was our turn to enter, the Asian girl looked at us and quickly whispered something to the pink haired lady in a different language which we found very strange. When it our turn the pink haired white woman asked us if we wanted a table for 4, we said yes. She then proceeded to ask us if we had Covid vaccinations. We told her that 2 of us had been vaccinated and 2 of us hadn’t but only one had their vaccinations cards on them. She then told us that we all can’t enter since it’s their policy not to admit unvaccinated people. My friend then asked if he and our other friend can enter alone since they’re both vaccinated and he’s the only one with vaccination card and she again said no because they don’t admit singles or couples. We didn’t want to argue so we accepted her explanation albeit very suspiciously and we told her that we’ll stand on the side to see if she’d ask anyone else about their vaccinations. She very rudely told us to move away since we were ‘in the way’ and since we didn’t want trouble we moved a bit further to some seats next to the club and watched her literally admit person after person without asking for anything. My guy friend went to confront her about it and even asked a group of about 12 people if they had been vaccinated or had vaccination cards and all but one said no yet they were all allowed entry. Just to note, every one who was admitted after us were all white. I was in total disbelief of this blatant racism that I confronted the pink haired white woman as to why she wouldn’t let us in and asked her if she wasn’t admitting us because we were all black. She wouldn’t give me a straight answer and kept repeating the same excuse about Covid vaccinations. I told her that we had all been sitting down and watched her admit person after person without so much as a question or a look at their ‘vaccinations cards’. My friend had even asked the group right in front of her if they all had been vaccinated and all said no yet she let them through yet wouldn’t let us. I told her that if she had an issue with our skin color she should just admit it and stop using the vaccinations as excuse because it was very clear it wasn’t. As I was walking away, she and a bunch of other hostesses whispered something behind my back and they all started laughing at me and my friends. I honestly can’t believe that such blatant racism is alive in this day and age. We are literally here on holiday and just wanted to have a good time but ended up being discriminated against because of the color of our skin. Personally, I’m never stepping back there and I don’t recommend that anyone go to that place!More
Waiting more that 40 minutes for our order . Very low customer service. Quality of food wasn’t good. Very unprofessional stuff. We asked the waiter to play some background music and he said that the sound system has an issue. Then I said oh very sorry to hear that. It could be much better if you play some background music. Then he replied did you come for music or for Me !!! This types of conversation is very unprofessional in the business. Definitely not visiting again.More
2-4-1 on happy hour from 4-8pm means this is one of the cheapest places in town for a pint, great venue, excellent staff, special mention to Beth who has great banter. Well worth a visit. More
I stay always at the jbr so I can visit this place. It’s a nice place with nice drinks. Before corona was the party place nowadays as there’s so many rules it’s a place for a nice drinks with some friends. I recommend the place and for sure will go again More
