Maybe I’m getting old but when I sat down with Scottish family I hadn’t seen for 30 yrs, and not be able to hold a conversation due to the noisy guitarist , we were saddened. Read more
As we walked the restaurant quarter of Clark quay in Singapore, we settled down for a drink at this Irish bar that had some outdoors sitting that provided good rest stop/peoples watching spot. We were welcomed by the manager, a very friendly Irish lad named James, a charming and attentive Dubliner. James made sure that everything we ordered was delivered in a timely fashion and stopped by to chat with guests at every table. When we were out the following evening, we agreed very readily to go back to McGettigan’s with the hope to see James again and experience his welcoming manner and hospitality . We we not disappointed! As we found out, when he appeared, it was his day off, but he still made sure we were taken care of. We had a very nice veggie flat bread, and a nice chat with James and his wife that came to meet him there. All in all a very nice experience and we recommend it wholeheartedly. James has definitely made our experience a very good one! Read more
Great location with outdoor and indoor seating, this pub has got some good image. Yet, the music is much too loud and at the end of dinner we were relieved to leave the place. Good selection of beers, and a nice bar scene. The food is okay, typical pub food, nothing fancy really. Good service from the staff, smiling and efficient , but really the food is overpriced for the quality. A shame somehow as they have got a great spot and this could be a jewel.Read more
We had a poor experience today after a riverboat trip starting on Clark Quay. Really disappointing visit as we were not advised wether to order at this “pub style” bar/eatery. We sat outside and were acknowledged by a member of staff within but waited around 10 mins for him to take our order as he was on the phone and never came out to us. There was only 1 other table occupied so eventually I went to order 2 cold local beers at the bar myself. The cost of 2 pints of Tiger beer was $36.49 (UK £10+ per pint!) Unfortunately we did not check it or have the opportunity from the staff member to check the food or drink menu folder first! Beware -check prices before you order as this place is not cheap and therefore not busy!! I wouldn’t recommend! Read more
