Elegant and spacious room with an amazing view of the Indian ocean. Comfortable bed. Magnificent well maintained garden with many comfy beds to sit and relax. Largest resort in Sri Lanka with 3 swimming pools. enjoyed sun set pool very much. Best place to wind down after a long day, kids not allowed in there. Massive recreation area for kids, with wet slides, fountains, and many more.. Customer service at the restaurant needs to improve. Since the Restaurant was crowded and noisy wasn’t able to enjoy the food. Staff just couldn’t handle the crowd. Took a long time to fill the empty dishes. Lacked efficiency. A female staff member wanted us sit at a table without laying it properly. She was bit rude too. Yaara tea wasn’t the best. Unfortunately Most of the restaurants were closed and many events were cancelled. Nothing much was happening at Artisan Village. Shangri-la you can do lot better.... Would like to go back when everything is running smoothly,Read more
There really isn’t enough expressions to say about how amazing this resort is. As you drive up to the hotel, expect the unexpected. From your first steps into the lobby, you will experience a view like no other, greeted by the most friendly staff that will charm you with their wonderful customer service. The front desk in charge was a beautiful lady named Chami, her smile upon our arrival made us forget about our long car ride from the airport to the hotel. This resort is probably the best place to visit, especially if you have little ones. From the spacious rooms to the awesome kids club to the more awesome kids swimming area with slides and big splash pad. You couldn’t ask for anything more, your kids will LOVE the amenities! If that’s not enough, your kids will love the range of food to meet their picky taste. The team there goes above and beyond to make sure that your stay is comfortable and that you’re satisfied. I would like to thank the whole staff for making our summer vacation an unforgettable one. I wish I could remember each individuals name as I would have addressed them personally because they truly deserve to be recognized. We look forward to coming back again, highly highly recommended!Read more

We enjoyed our stay at Shangri La Hambantota. The rooms were very spacious and elegant. Even the weather was perfect. The pools were designed for total relaxation. We expected a wider variety in terms of food but the food that was available tasted great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Read more
We had a single night here to break up our journey when travelling from Ella through to the south coast. This last-minute decision proved fortuitous, and we had a lovely time. Check-in staff were courteous and efficient. We opted to upgrade to a suite, which was absolutely huge! A large living room, separate bedroom, walk in robe, dressing room and spacious bathroom meant we felt very pampered throughout. There was also a full-length balcony with lots of seating and overlooking the pool and ocean beyond. The scale of the resort is massive (I think it’s the largest in the country) and can feel a bit overwhelming at times. There were several boutiques in the main arcade, but oddly many were closed even on a Saturday afternoon. We opted for room service for lunch, which was expensive but tasty, well-presented and quick to arrive. We were there on a Saturday night, and the resort was almost full with families from Colombo. As a result, dinner was a somewhat frantic buffet (with no a la carte options available). The range, value for money and taste of dishes on offer was great, but the noise, crowding of tables and general air of disorganisation meant it was not a particularly relaxing or elegant experience. Breakfast the next morning was similar, but we opted to sit in a quieter outdoor area which was a bit more relaxed. I also sampled the on-site spa, which was excellent in terms of service and quality of experience. My partner enjoyed his time playing golf, although the windy conditions made the course a challenging one. It was well-maintained and picturesque throughout. Read more
