We stayed from 4th to 6th Oct in a family suite. One King Size bed and two single beds for 2A and 2C. This was our first time staying in Silka JB, a weekend gateway from Singapore. Our family loved the spacious family suite, two toilets/bathroom. Hotel provided the necessary toiletries. However, there's only one chair. Preferably, the hotel management can consider of having two chairs for Family Suite(?) And maybe a chair and a small table at balcony? Our room faced the shopping mall, Tesco, or 3-4 minutes drive. Nothing much there ( KFC, food court but many stalls were not opened, one Muslim food eatry) so we would suggest better to head to AEON in Permas Jaya, which was about 10-15 minutes drive, where there more choices of food (lunch/dinner). There's a 22hours Coffee shop opposite to Silka Hotel and we only tried their Roti Prata, to us, it's was average and if you weren't so picky. Our room didn't include breakfast so we paid RM15 each (same for Adult and Children above 5 years old)for two morning as we were lazy to head out for breakfast. A very simple selection of breakfast, hard boiled eggs, fried spicy noodles, nasi lemak, chicken redang, porridge with condiments, baked bean, scramble eggs, 1 type of corn flake available and toast. Swimming pool was in next building, co shared with a condo (can't remember the name). It's on 2nd level so you need to head down to ground floor, turned right from main hotel entrance and exit at a barrier (man by hotel security) to next building and walked up to level 2 cutting through a carpark. Our family voted that we would certainly consider Silka our future getaway.Read more
Totally different from pics, not all facilities are available, rooms are not isolated all cars and motorbikes sound in your room, extreme noisy A/C and directly hitting your bed, the carpets are not clean, bathroom needs improvement and around the sink it’s black, internet speed is too slow, the staff elevator is noisy if your room is on its side you will wake up while using, in-room dining tastes bad, the TV is not working only 3-4 movie channels with the same movies daily and the screen is not clear. I wish I can cancel my booking and leave but it is totally paid.Read more
Fuss free check in, maximum privacy, had a really enjoyable stay. Affordable. Only cons is that it’s about 30-40mins from the checkpoint. Relatively close to Pasar pandan (a great night market to visit at night). Would come again, thank you! Read more
Staying here every month. So far satisfy with the room arrangement. There is swimming pool, gym, garden, restaurant, room service available here. Thanks to the housekeeping department Manager (Ms Mas) who always helpful to prepare a clean and fully equipped room for my monthly stay. Keep it up the great job to ensure all your guests satisfy and happy staying in Silly JB. Read more
The hotel is not in a busy area, except for a Tamil restaurant and grocery store across the street and a Tesco supermarket, catering mostly to locals. You would need a taxi to go anywhere else. During our stay here,Ms Mas, who was in charge of housekeeping went out of her way to keep us happy. She has a lovely friendly personality and greeted us with her warm smile every day. One evening, she even drove us all over town to see the sights and dropped us off at a nice place for dinner. We were touched by her kindness and hospitality. The rooms are very basic and economical. I would not recommend the breakfast which lies cold and unattended if you go late. There are vending machines which are convenient. The hotel is used by bus loads of tourists who arrive in the evening and leave the next morning, so the small reception area can get quite busy at that time.Read more
