I cannot recommend this hotel enough. We stayed here following the advice of a travel agent who we asked to book our honeymoon back in Spring 2019. We had been scouring websites and 'deals' but trying to find a hotel that offers luxury AND great facilities for young children is really quite tough. The Sofitel on The Palm offered everything we wanted and more. The staff were so wonderful and our room was fantastic. We booked a 1 Bedroom Family Apartment which was so spacious and spotlessly clean - more than enough room for my husband and I and our 4 year old daughter. The bath was huge - all 3 of us managed to get in it - and the layout meant that we could put our daughter to sleep and not disturb her if we stayed up later watching movies/having a drink. Midway through the trip our daughter had an awful nosebleed and the staff at the hotel were amazing. Not only did they look after us at the time of the incident but all the staff continued to ask after her for the remainder of the trip - a real sign of attention to your guests. The kids club was brilliant too. We didn't use it as much as we thought we would because the Sofitel private beach provided hours of entertainment for our nature-loving daughter, but when she did attend the activities in the club, she had a GREAT time. She has even asked to go back to Dubai simply to go back to the kids club!! Shout out to the brilliant staff in there who have a real dedication to their job. And lastly, a huge thank you to Jane who worked in the World Eatery. This was our closest breakfast place on site and Jane made our daughter feel super special. Jane even tracked down the last Sofitel Turtle for us and made our daughter SO happy, I can't even begin to say enough thank yous. Overall the holiday was the perfect honeymoon for us. It was was so special. My only slight sadness was that we stayed in the Sofitel in Amsterdam immediately after our wedding (for 4 days) and then in the Sofitel Dubai a few months later for our 'proper' honeymoon with our daughter. Although we mentioned, on both occasions to both hotels that this was our honeymoon, we didn't receive any special 'honeymoon treatment', which was a real shame. For once in our lives we were looking forward to being made to feel special (perhaps a room upgrade, flowers in the room or a bottle of champagne) but neither hotel bothered to do this for us. As I said above, the holiday itself was perfect and the Sofitel The Palm is amazing (literally the best hotel I've stayed in for customer service) but it would have been nice if being a newly married couple had been celebrated by either of the hotels in the same chain. For me, I only plan on being a honeymoon-er once in my life so if would have been a lovely extra.Read more
We visited in the middle of Feb 2020, and had an absolutely amazing time. The hotel was flawless from start to finish and all staff were fantastic. From the concierge, beach boys, waiters and maids... everyone was incredibly friendly and performed at top standard. The food and drinks across the hotel were also at a very high standard. Read more
This hotel really is 5*!! My husband and I were debating whether to stay at either the Atlantis or Sofitel on the palm as both were recommended for being great for children. We decided to try the Sofitel and I am so glad we did. From the moment we arrived all of the staff were absolutely lovely! We arrived late in the evening and had a slight problem with our room, the manager Soliman who was in charge was amazing, he was so understanding and arranged for us to change rooms and even upgraded us for the inconvenience. The hotel itself is beautiful, it has a nice relaxed atmosphere, the pools were all bath like temperature, the kids pool was great and our girls loved the play park. The kids club has fantastic facilities although we only visited once due to being out. We went half board and tried all of the restaurants and can honestly say the food we had in each of the restaurants was fantastic, the quality of the food and service was exactly what you would expect from a 5* restaurant! The half board menu provided lots of choice but still gave the offer to add on if you wanted. The drinks are quite expensive but only what you would expect in a 5* hotel. Getting around wasn’t an issue, the concierge were so helpful especially Rosanne and the taxis arrived in minutes. On some occasions we used the hotels chauffeurs when we were going a little further a field as they had children’s car seats, these were a fixed price and quite reasonable. Normal taxis are quite cheap. Dubai is great for children there is lots to do at JBR the walk, parks and other entertainment. We also went to the Pointe which isn’t far from the hotel which was very family orientated too. We visited the Atlantis one day to go to the water park and it was so busy everywhere, I think we would have found it stressful staying there, it was a sigh of relief to get back to the peaceful Sofitel that evening!! As a side note we were very disappointed with our visit to the Atlantis water park also as our 3 year old girls were unable to go on lots of the flumes. Overall we can’t fault this hotel at all and will definitely be returning!!!Read more
After a busy day touring this was the perfect place to grab a quick bite. The pizza was fresh made in front of us into the pizza oven. My biggest judge of a pizza is the base and these are hand made and thin, perfect. Came with complimentary buns that were so light fluffy and tasty I'd go back for these alone 🤤Read more
