Visited this cafe 2 days in a row to try their coffee menu. Took le smoked salmon with Jawa, a specialty coffee on my 1st visit. The salmon was okay, nothing to shout about. But the coffee us exceptionally good. On my 2nd visit, I went for their Chili Dog and pour-over coffee using single-origin Panama Finca Santa Teresa beans, with valrhona chocolate cake. Again, the main course is nothing exceptional but the coffee didn't disappoint. But the real winner is the chocolate cake, super yummylicious. Hot, moist chocolate cake with vanilla ice-cream. Agree with a lot of the other reviews here - coffee is fantastic, true to the cafe name, but food leaves a lot to be desired. Came here for a quick brunch with a friend using the 1-for-1 Entertainer app. Gluten-free crab aglio olio (requested for no spice): crab taste was overpowering and my friend who usually loves crab couldn't finish it. There was a special request for no chilli, but this caused the aglio olio to be one-note - granted, this is not how their usual aglio olio tastes, but chefs at some other restaurants will make up for the lack of chilli by adding more of other spices. Perhaps this is something to consider for future. Academics Breakfast: the first thing on the menu, which I assumed was their signature. It was... pretty bad, actually. The mushrooms were dry and the cheese was not part of the omelette as thought but a slice by itself. It was rubbery and reminded me of something you'd get on an airplane. For $25, DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT. Curly fries: I liked them, but my friend didn't. The sauces are good! It's on the expensive side at $17. Mocha: Good, and kept my friend awake! Okinawa Latte: Loved it, it was smooth, creamy, and just sweet enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Total bill was $61 after discount. I'd NEVER come back for their food and wouldn't recommend it to anyone, but their coffee is really wonderful.Read more
