This used to be the place to go before a visit to the Hippodrome Theatre. It has gradually gone downhill and on visiting today we found the restaurant had reduced to half the size, half the menu and half the staff. Our main course was delivered without the accompanying chips, which we had to chase up and then wait some time , by which time our food was chilling rapidly. We then only received one serving, despite having ordered two. With so many restaurant alternatives in this popular area we shall seek out a new pre theatre venue.More
Visit this cafe a couple of times a year at least when I come to Birmingham hippodrome. What has happened?? Now half the size with boarding up, freezing cold inside, drinks took so long nearly missed performance start of show and drinks were cold when arrived. We were on a coach - other people had same experience. Really need to sort this out. More

I went to the Green Room for a pre-theatre lunch with my wife and 3 year old. After waiting 30 minutes for kids pasta, adults pasta (effectively the same dish) and fish and chips we chased up the order, after waiting a further 10 minutes I cancelled the order, meaning my 3 year old had to miss lunch. The incompetent staff were unable to refund back onto the card I had used for payment and never even offered an apology. While trying to provide the refund the food came out, it looked awful. For lack of a better word I can only describe the staff there as gormless.More
Dont like the way you have to que to order your meal, pay for it then wait and wait and wait. Tables not cleared quickly enough. So we had to sit at a dirty table( there were no others) when it was eventually cleared it was just that!not wiped clean, and being wooden tables food was still visible in the grooves it's a good thing I always carry wet wipes so did it my self. The service is shocking no organisation. Wont go again this is the second time we've been and it's not improved.More
