I think we must have been one of the last few Britidh people to be able to visit this lovely place! We were there one week before lockdown in the UK. We had an amazing time our bungalow directly on the beach was all we could ask for Yes maybe not ultra modern as some reviews have pointed out but for us it was all we needed! Every one of the staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help us and we thank all of them for making us feel comfortable during what was a pretty difficult time for everyone! We can't fault the food, we had come with the idea of trying different restaurants in the area but due to the situation we ate every day in the Aleenta either in the restaurant or on our patio. I can honestly say we were never disappointed. The food was fresh, hot and tasted amazing! Hopefully one day when this is all over we can come back and enjoy this wonderful resort without having the worry of getting home!Read more
We came here for the first time with other couples of friends and we loved it! The place is absolutely gorgeous from the location (perfect!)to the room (clean big and super quiet). The staff is friendly and available, the food is great and the beach clean! We will surely come back!Read more
Of all the places to relax, nothing gets any better than this lovely beachfront retreat. Organic home grown eco food Attention to smallest detail. Nothing was too much trouble and a warm welcome in these difficult times. Room was spotless and very clean and hygiene was a key factor in in us staying here. Great service from Simon the manager and Goong from the restaurant. Better book early as this secret retreat is very popular now with locals and tourists as well Will be back againRead more
I have never written a negative review for any hotel, but after our experience at the Aleenta I have to encourage people not to stay here. My husband and I booked the Aleenta for our honeymoon over 1 year in advance after looking at pictures and reading reviews. The atmosphere was nice when we arrived but when we got to our room it was a lot smaller than described with limited AC. In addition, there were bugs EVERYWHERE upon arrival. Mosquitos, ants, spiders, and even centipedes most of which were found on and in our bed. The “private luxury” described on the hotel website was non existent, with people hovering in front of our room at all times and peering in to our large windows. All of the above should not happen at a self reported 5 star hotel. That being said, we could have dealt with the sub par accommodations, but the poor hospitality and support in the midst of crisis truly ruined our experience. Expanding on that - the worst part was that the Coronavirus became a global pandemic forcing us to change our flights and leave early, and the hotel did NOTHING to accommodate our last minute need to travel home. Instead they made us pay in full for 4 nights after only staying for 1. In addition, the resort manager, Simon Worrall, did not even have the courtesy to speak with us himself after we asked for his assistance. He sent someone in his place to tell us they were “sorry” but could not do ANYTHING to aid in our situation. This is poor hospitality to say the least and this resort does not deserve a 5 star rating. There were some lovely people working at this resort, so it is unfortunate that the overall experience was so horrible. We were so looking forward to staying at the Aleenta, and are extremely disappointed. Please do not make the same mistake we made. Especially if you are celebrating a special occasion.Read more
We loved this little hotel. Stayed two nights in room Coconut #101 by the beach. Woke up to feeling like the sea was almost in our room. The style is relaxed and intimate and understated. Not fussy. Lovely staff. The only disadvantage was that we were discouraged from swimming in the sea because of a razor type fish which can cut you. That’s such a shame - as there isn’t much of a pool. A great stop for a couple of nights if you are exploring the coast Read more
