As part of our visit to the Dubai Marina, my wife and I took a Dhow cruise in the waters of the Persian Gulf with Captain Jack Bristol Charter. The crew was friendly and welcoming and provided cold fruit juice beverages as we made our way into the waters. The seating provided were beanbags, which were fairly comfortable and sturdy. The ride was smooth throughout our hour or so journey. The perspective once away from the marina is quite panoramic. There are several other water transports from sea-doo personal watercrafts, to dhows, to various sized yachts. There were also a variety of buildings several of which were very unique and stood out from the other skyscrapers. There is a building that looks like a boat stood on its end as well as a building that is shaped like a rectangle with its center cut out. I continue to marvel at the ingenuity of the architects who design Dubai’s skyscrapers. Another unique opportunity for visitors is the Dubai Eye. This huge ferris wheel offers expansive views of the marina area and beyond. The one activity that I was happy to observe from the safety of our Dhow was skydiving! We saw the small planes taking off and people jumping out of the planes with their parachutes. Our Dhow provided great views of different areas of the Dubai Marina during the just over an hour cruise.More
I took this cruise during mid-day, and it was a good way to explore Dubai Marina and JBR. It was full hour long cruise, and offered amazing views of Marina, JBR beach and seafront. Crew was polite and friendly, free drinks were offered onboard.More
We loved our one hour Dhow Cruise! What a fun and relaxing way to see the Dubai Marina! The crew was very nice and accommodating for my family and children. We loved it and plan to bring our visitors on this cruise again! More
This is my third trip on captain jack and it’s gone down in service and experience. It is still good fun but not what it used to be before. It would be better if the trip could spend more time in the seafront in front of jbr but because of the time limit and slow spead of the marina 90% of the trip is spent just getting out of the marina and then traveling back in. It spends about 5 minutes outside of the marina and then turns back. If they could extend the trip so we can see more of the jbr beach landscape that would be good. I’d still recommend but could and has been better.More
Spend a nice full hour around marina and JBR. Lovely views and refreshing. The rides are scheduled every hour and the embarkation is an easy process. Worth it. More
