We are regulars here and have been eating lunch, dinner and attending weddings here for years. Never disappoints us. Great food, fantastic wine and very helpful, pleasant staff. Read more
The historic nature of this venue is its main appeal, with its situation on one of the original wine farms in Constantia. Our group of 6 visited for lunch and we all ordered different items and were equally impressed with our meals. As a tourist, it was excellent value for money. The service was very good.Read more
Lured by the Entertainer apps 2 for 1 offer, we treated ourselves to a midweek lunch. Our first impression was that the staff were less than friendly and accommodating. When we finally did have a waitor he really was not too interested in making the experience memorable; we were largely ignored. There are no value adds like bread to the table. Fine. We ordered the Kingklip special which was described as coming with crunchie potatoes, a side salad and a lemon butter sauce. Our guess is this was forgotten on the pass by the waitor who, when reminded well after 30mins, delivered us (at best) luke-warm fish and veg. The meal was cold after a few bites. The kingclip was a small portion. The dish, for R220, was really poor value (as a local). If there was indeed any lemon butter sauce it was not noticeable. We are glad we used our offer or we would have felt even further cheated.Incredibly disappointing experience.Read more
We can here for lunch and understandably the venue is fantastic. Being a farm that is 100's of years old, it has got it all regarding heritage. the food was excellent band the service good. Unfortunately, we were seated in the back of the restaurant, and our meal was constantly disturbed by unruly children. Our table was also opposite the emergency exit, which was constantly left open by the children as they constantly ran in and out of the door without ever closing it. Suggestion to the restaurant: Families with children should be seated in the back, and adults in the front area. Similarly, a plan should be made to ensure that the emergency exit door can be closed automaticallyRead more
Beautiful surroundings together with a great vibe unfortunately lacked a bit when it came to the food. With the cool weather we were looking for a hearty and warm dish.We expected more from the curry platter dish and we felt we could have bought it at any market for half the price. We don't mind paying more at a highly rated restaurant but honestly felt it was lacking today. Read more
