Great food, excellent service accompanied by the worlds best wine. Whats not to like! Service was fast and excellent.More
A simple Sunday became sensational, provided by the Jonkershuis service team - enthusiastic and almost overzealous to accomodate me and my family's request for a table next to the grass which was duly obliged. The open-aired dining space was buzzing with activity, a mix of family-freindly fun and cozy chatting couples. Naturally a glass of the Great Groot Constantia Chardonnay was on the cards - a wine with generous oak influence creating waves of butterscotch apple and lemon curd flavours. A special mention to our waitress Sindiswa who was a terrific host, juggling our requests and delivering with such ease and grace, made for such a spectacular afternoon outing needing to be replicated.More
Lovely setting. Reservations essential. On a cooler day the table infront of the fireplace is a treat while enjoying local dishes. Groot Constantia cellar tour at 3pm is a few meters away thus a good idea to combine this with lunch. More
As a birthday celebration we went to JH for lunch which is in beautiful surroundings within walking distance of our house. Service was good, food was generally good BUT one of our party is vegan and there was no attempt on the standard menu to cater for people who prefer plant based food. Our waiter was great but clearly not briefed for such an situation and the kitchens attempt at a special salad order was abysmal. Guys, WAKE UP! plant based eating is a thing, get with the program!!More
I was horrified to get the bill to be charged R32 for a 500ml plastic bottle of still water, the same price of a red cuppachino.... that is a complete rip off for water. A 5l at Woolworths costs R23. It is shocking to be billed such prices, clearly the only money they are interested in is foreign currency. It offensive and shocking that we have to be subjected to this kind of pricing.More
