Ordered: carbonara, side salad, Americano
Tried a lunch set on weekend before busy times hit.
Carbonara was memorable. One if those rarer egg-y sauce, while I think they've used cream in it, it didn't overshadow the taste of eggs. The ratio of bacon to pasta was balanced, and they were generous with the cheese. I would have liked more black pepper in it - but perhaps that's a personal taste. The chef did crack some for me when asked, but the pepper miller was fine grounded and I think the creamy sauce would have benefitted from a heartier coarse ground.
The set came with side salad and Americano. The greens in the salad was well seasoned. I was surprised to find olives since I figured side salad are usually pretty bare, and I appreciate the varieties in it.
Americano is Americano, fair.
It was around 138 for the set before service charge I think; pasta was 100 and the side + coffee was 38. Not bad pricing at all.
For the set up, the inside was mostly bar side tables, so good for groups of 2, and a bit more challenging for parties larger than that. There is a few half outdoor seats for alfresco dining if you inclined. Personally I am a bit too short for the bar table and feel like I have to reach up to eat comfortably. Furthermore the tables are all quite right together, true HK style; so be wary if you are a bit cozy with your neighbor. They have hooks under the bar table to hang personal items, which is a nice touch.
Tldr: good carbonara, high cp lunch set, phsycially tight seating arrangement.
