Came here with my office mates and we were able to get a table right next to the street. A very nice Irish decor that the place has and a good collection of tap beers - Guinness, Tetleys, Asahi , Peroni, Magners and HK Yau. A nice wide collection of beers! Haven’t seen peroni on the tap at a lot of places so was great to see it here! The other great thing about this place is the food. A combination of Indian, Western and Mexican food which goes so well with the drinks. We had ordered the 12 pieces buffalo wings, the fish and chips, the chicken tikka masala and the burrito. All of the food items were outstanding. Hats off to the chef! On the pricing side, I would say the food is probably a little bit pricier. But then the portions are good so can’t complain much there. Service is excellent as well. I forgot the name of the server helping our table, but she was really sweet. She was the only one waiting tables but in-spite of that she was really quick and efficient to take care of our orders. On a lighter note, the only downside I would say is that the toilet is on the first floor of the bar. Now that’s a tad difficult when you are drunk and want to take a piss. Climbing a flight of stairs doesn’t help. Haha! But overall a great place with lovely food and wonderful service. Will definitely come here again and much recommended!!More
I vistsed here twice when I was in Hong Kong. It's a great bar to relax and enjoy a drink, looking out at the street through the open entrance. The British woman who served me was very friendly, and the place had a great atmosphere. I wish that I would have come here more, and I hope to return in the future.More
McSorley's Ale House isn't new because it used to be located at the end of Elgin Road and now it is on Staunton Road. They serve brilliant food there especially curries but unfortunately it was a hot day so I just couldn't hack anything heavy as I would have wanted. They were really nice and gave us chilled water which was something I desperately needed in order to cool myself down for someone who doesn't sweat. After having some water, my appetite came back so had the yummy cajun wings, which were crispy and tasty. The celery sticks were a good balance and went nicely with the dip. Also had the apple tart which was needed on a hot day. Will be back for some more hearty food!More
Just getting lost in Hong Kong and stumbled into this place. Great atmosphere as it is an open front to the street so had a coupla beers and watched time go by. Food was amazing. Family of four and all truly enjoyed our meal. I think at one point I observed my oldest child methodically licking everyone’s dish clean. More
We discovered this Irish bar by chance wandering around Soho as tourists during our first visit to Hong Kong. It was warm so the front of the bar was open onto the street. We popped in as they were showing Premiership soccer also. It was a great spot to just by lazy with a beer and watch the world pass by. They also do an Indian buffet every Thursday which smelled very tempting but we had already eaten before arriving there. The staff here were extremely friendly which was not a surprise given how hospitable the manager - Richie - was. In fact Richie was the primary reason we returned AGAIN for the next two nights also, despite our hotel being 30 mins taxi drive away in the TST district. Richie was extremely courteous, friendly, full of chat and local knowledge and tourist tips and even took the time to walk me to an ATM located a 7 minute walk away as he was worried I might get lost trying to find it. That was a really nice gesture and restored my faith in human nature so if you are out there, please support this bar. I will definitely return on my next visit. P.S. There was also a good mix of expats from the UK, Ireland and Australia so lots of chat and good banter!More
