This is an Irish pub designed by someone who has never seen an Irish pub. It has great service, a very lively and pleasant clientele. The prices are not too expensive. A very good evening venueMore
Looking for a ladies night? PJs is one of best Irish pubs. Ladies night every Wednesday (3 complimentary drinks and 50% off for the food). I always like the Pjs platter 😋 👌. Oh and there’s a live music 🎶😻More
Excellent bar on corniche. Expensive, as is the whole of Abu Dhabi but reasonable good. Good friendly service. Can be difficult to find from outside the Royal MeridianMore
One of the finest bar with awesome ambiance and service with varieties of drinks that makes PJ's special alwaysMore
Full disclosure - this is an edited post in order to give the server the benefit of the doubt. A couple years ago this place was awesome - good service and a great band. Now it’s just awful. The band is sub-par and the service is terrible. It takes a ridiculous amount of time to get food or drinks. A friend joined me for their “celebration” on 19 Dec with a supposedly great deal on drinks and food. A couple PJ workers told us the promotion was extended so we figured we’d order a few more. I guess they didn’t tell the rest of the staff because we got overcharged on at least a round of drinks. We had other questions about the bill but since it was a gamble as to whether we’d ever see service again we decided to bail. Fact was over the course of 5 and a half hours I had 5 drinks. Sometimes they came out with a mixer as ordered, sometimes not. Sometimes they were watered down, sometimes not. Almost every time it was very difficult to get any staff’s attention (hence the drink per over an hour). The DJ was fine and the band was lacking. I can understand when wait staff may be overtasked, but there was not much of a crowd at all. If the wait staff was still overtasked with such a small crowd that’s a failure of management to schedule enough people for their supposed “awesomeness” celebration. What rubbed me the wrong way is that when I was checking out of the hotel I was told to wait to speak to a manager. Of course she was on the phone so I waited - despite really wanting to get on the road for a couple hour drive ahead of me. Several minutes later she finished her phone call and asked me about the review I had posted on PJ’s (pre-edit). She kept assuring me they had just won best bar in Abu Dhabi. I told her I had no idea how they performed their rankings but based on the experience the other night I didn’t see it. She said they would do an investigation on the potential overcharging and potential added drinks on the bill. The whole conversation lead me to believe that her time was clearly more valuable than mine. The fact is this has gone from my favorite bar in Abu Dhabi to a bar I would never go to again (based on 3 visits over the last 5 weeks or so). If you just look on Trip Advisor or Google there are quite a few bars that have better ratings - hence my added skepticism of TimeOut’s pick of the year. There are several dozen other bars in Abu Dhabi that deserve your time and money. To be honest, after the conversation with the hotel manager I would be hesitant to stay at Le Royal Meridian in the near future as well.More
