We booked a table for 3 for lunch over the phone and I stated it’s a spacial occasion for our friend’s birthday. I also asked if it is going to be ok to bring our own cake, I was ensured it’s fine. We arrived and sat down. I gave the cake to the meet and greet lady who provided us with the paper to sign and took the cake to the kitchen. I explain to her there is one big candle to light up and if we could have it after the mains. No problems rectified here. We had to fetch someone’s attention multiplier times to eventually place the order, mind you there were 2 tables occupied at the time. Found it a bit strange to be chasing people at empty restaurant. After having our mains (I put my hands down to chefs who made our food really nice, guess that’s the reason why we come back there) we were cleared and... nothing happened. We sat and sat and there was no one. No one offered us coffees, drinks, pudding menu, got the cake- nothing. After waiting for good half an hour if not more, I stood up to speak to the greeting lady and told her I was a bit annoyed that no one came with the cake and no one offered us anything. I asked for the cake back as we were quite anticipating to leave at the time. Mind you the cake was a surprise and the restaurant was informed as I was sneaking out to give it to them. The supervisor comes round and asked what was the problem, by this moment my friend whose birthday it was realised there was something not right. The guy also asked us about the cake, which WAS A SURPRISE for my friend, spoiling it totally! I got very frustrated and said we would like to leave. We got the cake immediately, the cake and the candle were packed in the original boxes like no one was planning to take it out. Working in restaurant industry and management for years I’d like to know where was a supervisor if the staff doesn’t know how to wait tables? Why weren’t we offered a coffee and said, sorry ladies your cake is on the way, we will fix it? Why we were neglected with service if there were 2 tables occupied? Why the supervisor is not monitoring the special events being held at the place? How on Earth, the supervisor doesn’t know how to deal with complaint or mistake of his staff? I am the last person to ask for free stuff or discounts, I pick places to have good time and enjoy myself but this lunch was very disappointing, as I planned it differently. Despite the food being nice and the lady at the door being polite, the rest failed- waiting staff and supervisor. We might come back for food but I would tell anyone to think twice before you celebrate there any special days, pick wisely. Read more
I dined at Salero for the first time and it was fantastic! From the moment I entered and informed the hostess about my reservation I was warmly welcomed and escorted to my table. We decided that we wanted to move and without hesitation this was done almost instantaneously by the manager. Once we had moved tables and throughout the rest of the evening, we were served by a fantastic waitress, Maria from Colombia. She was like our very own form of entertainment. She was engaging, she was witty and just made us feel welcome and because of her genuine warm personality, I will be returning! The combination of good food and service from Maria is an absolute WINNER for me! Thank you Maria!Read more
I've been going to this beautiful place for a while now. It is lively and the food is wonderful! Sometimes a booking is essential especially on Wednesdays as they have a weekly flamenco performance in the evening. Shout out to the lovely bubbly waitress Maria! Returning again for sure.Read more
The team rocks and the food transport you back to those amazing Restaurants on the sea side of the Mediterranean coast of Spain ;) We felt so welcoming from the arrival till the end, very knowledgeable waitress, missed her name thought... But her recommendations were so worthy, we had the breaded mussels, the shrimps on garlic and a black paella to end the dinner! Sooooo Yummyyy and don't miss the best sangria in town!!! Will return back very soon and try them desserts, we didn't have more tummy to have those this time lol, thank you Salero and keep up the flavours and the smiles!!!Read more
