We were 3 adults heading Dubai for weekend in Feb, Hotel service was amazing, 10/10 Hotel has shuttle to Dubai Mall, and it helps, you can also walk for 15-20 minutes if it's not too hot outside. definitely good recommendation to consider while traveling to Dubai.More

The Taj Dubai hotel at Downtown Dubai is a go to hotel in Dubai as it offers a bouquet of exciting hospitality services. The restaurants in the hotel are amazing having Tesoro for those who love Pan Asian cuisine, Bombay Brasserie for Indian food lovers and Eloquent Elephant for those who love to dig in Italian or Jamaican cuisines.More

Allotted Room 1102 on 28th. Pipes burst on 29th morning and i woke up to flooding in my room.(Have videos). Called operator, front desk, duty manager repeatedly at 5.30 am. No one responded. After 15 mts operator picked up and said, will send someone to room. A guy came - shut down the pipes leaking. Tried duty manager again- connected - he said he will try and allot another room - never bothered to ask me if i was allight nor come up to my room and see my plight. Changed to room 1101. The min bar their was not working(said, they will need 24 hours to fix it) ; the chair was stuck to the ground. Exchanged chairs from 1102 myself. Yet no responsible manager visited until 11.30 am when i went down to talk at the reception. The then duty manager Ayan offered burj view room, one dinner or lunch free , also access to lounge one time with tea and snacks - declined all. (They need to understand what i went through first rather than stop me from complaining!!!). We had antoher 3 rooms checking in that day and next . Went with Ayan and checked all these rooms . We were also holding a dinner on 31st evening for 150nos of people in partnership with Startup Middle East .(Got jittery on the preparations for this as well). Next day , 1st Feb went for breakfast. Took Cereals and poured the hot milk from the flask. The milk was curdled. Asked to change. They changed my bowl with hol milk . But left the same flask at the buffet counter. Called up the Asst. Maanger who was their and reported to him. He took action fast and changed the flask and milk. When I was checking out on 2nd evening, i asked for extension at the reception. They said, they can do until 2.00pm and after that they would charge(that is the policy as i understood). I said, the minimum you can do for me is to allow me a couple of more hours till 4.00pm as i had business at Arab Health representing the Govt of Kerala . Finally they agreed (thankful for that). When i came to check out, i found that they had entered wrongly my credit card number and told me i had used another credit card. I said no, but they said, they could not be wrong. I had the pre auth receipt at the time of check in and handed it over to the reception. Even then it took them another 15 minutes to sort it out. Finally it was all done. It was a once in a life time experience. I have travelled and worked in 27 countries as part of my professional life and also was a taj inner circle member once. I switched to Mariott Bonvoy and then came back this time as my colleague asked me to try this out . More than what i had to go through, it was the lack of empathy and understanding of what i had to go through on the part of Taj officials that suprised and infact shocked me. They never picked up phones in emergency, never bothered to even meet me once in person (the first duty manager) and say that they were sorry. I was almost tempted to send out the videos in public but i refrained as i have immense respect for my country and its brands , especially abroad. Long Story short, it was an experience quite unavoidable .More
