1) service : Very slow, the waitress came with the next dish while the plate of the previous one was still on the table... 2) Atmosphere : Very cold, very noisy... A canteen style place 3) food : The starte (pea soup) was excellent, the rest was very mediocre (yellow was dry, the chili chocolate tart without chili nor orange compote, and old... Not crispy at all. 4) Cost : This is a price of fine dining, but with the quality of a basic restaurant... Definitely wouldn't recommand...More
In October 2021 I had my birthday lunch at the restaurant. It was really good & overall experience great. So much so that two months later I thought it a great place to experience to share. Big mistake. It was very empty.. Maybe that was a sign. Then were told there was no gas. Ordered the same meal as I did on my birthday... Calamari with fries & sauce - for R140+ but this time just got a small bowl of calamari. I had to show the waitron previous image. Second meal was also a repeat - Chicken burger. Got boiled, hard flavorless piece of chicken on which we could still see the imprints left of the skin. The first pics are from October... The bad pics are the latest. The red on the chicken was us attempting to sauce it up. So embarrassed & disappointed. Will not be back. Such a pity as the venue itself is ideal.More
A few years ago, I had dinner at Towers Restaurant for my friend's birthday and we absolutely enjoyed it. I have not returned as they were no longer halaal. I recently saw online that they're halaal again so decided to go again tonight. First concern I picked up was when we arrived, there was no covid screening done, despite their being a doorman and there being a dedicated screening station. We waited, no one assisted us so we carried on towards the restaurant. This is something I'd have to report to the Western Cape Government as this is a non-compliance. We were taken to our table and had the Snack platter as a starter, and I must say, it was a really disappointing. The samoosas and Springrolls were not properly prepared, and tasted like Pick 'n Pay brand quality samoosas, the "Chilli bites" was far from what it's supposed to be and slightly burnt. Only the chicken skewer tasted decent but was miniature. That was definitely not worth the R145 we paid. For Mains I had the Salt & Pepper Calamari @ R140 and my friend had the Beef Sirloin @ R235. Neither of us enjoyed the food. My portions was quite small and the miniature Calamari rings was quite oily and not up to standard. There was no sides added to the Calamari only tartar sauce. My friend's steak was tasty yet she was given a butter knife to cut steak with.... Her side mushroom sauce was more like a soup than sauce. After dinner we decided to leave as we did not enjoy the food at all. We waited a while for a waiter to settle our bill so decided to get up and head to the entrance so we could pay and leave. Sadly I'll not be returning to this establishment as other restaurants offers much better quality food at half the cost. More
Great food, but the service was extremely slow! They did not have the Lamb Shank pot pie nor did the have the rib eyed steak. My daughter ordered some sushi before lunch arrived and we are still waiting on it! We arrived at 12:45 for a 1pm lunch and was told that the chef only started at 1pm, which we found quite disturbing, but seeing as we had a booking, we decided to stay. The restaurant was quite empty, but everything just tool so long before we got it. The coffee that I ordered probably arrived 20 minutes after I had placed the order.More
We tried out the new all day menu and can highly recommend it. Our waiter, Paul was infinitely knowledgeable and thoroughly guided us through the different options. Chef, Earl was quick to allow our personal preferences and exhausted al avenues to ensure that we were completely satisfied. The supervisor, Corbin was extremely attentive and visible throughout the evening. As always, we left this restaurant completely satisfied.More
