The checkin experience at this hotel was abysmal and far away the worst I’ve ever experienced. We stayed here as our flights were delayed. We were greeted at the airport and driven by bus to the hotel. Then we proceeded to wait in line for the extraordinary period of 1 hour and 30 minutes in order to checkin. There were approximately 15 people ahead of me in the queue when we arrived. There was no issue with the room not being available, etc. We waited in line and after 30 minutes we received a queueing number card. We then waited while the other 16 people were processed. Despite the fact that the desk was manned by 4 staff who worked tirelessly, it took a further 60 minutes to receive our room keys. There was no explanation as to the incredible time required to checkin. My son slept in the chair nearby while waiting. There were many families and no special attention was shown to these families. I’ve traveled widely (see my other reviews) and I’m a very experienced traveler. I stay in all manner of establishments and levels of comfort. But there is no doubt this was the worst experience staying in any accommodation ever for me. I passed on my remarks at the front desk as I checked in but I was not acknowledged. The food was ok. The bed was comfortable. I found the room to be clean. There is construction noise but that’s very common in that part of world. It’s hardly the fault of the hotel. As other reviewers have noted the hotel is dated and tired. Your front desk staff are unprofessional. You need to radically overhaul your checkin procedures. It’s completely ridiculous to take 90 minutes to checkin when you have four staff working non-stop. Something is completely wrong with your system. Your guests should not have to wait like this and deal with unprofessional and staff who don’t listen. I’m planning to my complaints further due to my shocking experience, particularly related to the checkin process and your front desk staff. I’ll be writing to the hotel manager and the airline who booked your hotel. More
I had a pleasant visit. The front office staff was pleasant, as was the chauffeur who met me at the Qatar airport. The housekeeping service was quick to respond to my request for additional amenities, and the room was pristine. The F&B staff in all places were really professional, and the cuisine was delicious. During my visit, I felt at home. If they can renovate the hotel, it will be a fantastic location. However, it is the people inside the building who create the difference, and I obviously felt that difference at the M grand hotel Doha. I'm certainly willing to recommend the hotelMore
Rusiry Dananjaya, was an excellent waiter ! He made sure my mother and I’s time at the restaurant was fun , special and enjoyable !
