Poor at best, bad service and cold food. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The great view is all it has to offer 👎🏼 More
A party of 6 of us was very comfortably accommodated on that evening. There was a special set menu for Valentine's Day, which was excellent. The staff were really friendly, and an excellent evening was had by all, with really good foodMore
Excellent experience. We had great food, friendly service, very well priced and we were made to feel very welcome. We were in Cape Town for three nights and my daughter and I had four meals there. We were treated like locals. The stupendous view of Table Mountain was a bonusMore
To be honest, being in South-Africa I favour to visit local restaurant but women ... ok. But my preference is no discredit to the quality of the restaurant, food and service. Nothing extraordinary but a good, well prepared meal. The grilled chicken was just a little overdone but the dish was tasty and ok. The scenery is nice and the view is indeed beautiful. No regrets I went. More
There is always a danger eating at a restaurant that is at one of the main tourist areas in any City. Such restaurants can rely on filling their tables with the many tourists who go past, most of which may never visit that City again, so the restaurant can happily rely on its position rather than selling itself via the quality of its food. One is immediately aware of this when the menu arrives, which is so lengthy it could take some time to go through it - always a bad sign. Melonchino seems to set itself out as being a jack of all trades but a master of none, but this is catering for all tastes of those who walk by. It clearly depends on what you are looking for, but this was not for us.More
