The impressive main building situated on the hill caught our eye and made us drive up there. We were welcomed with huge smiles, screened for Covid symptoms and seated in the restaurant with its lovely ambience and gorgeous views. Our food was masterly prepared. After spending a wonderful morning at Babylonstoren we opted to try a different restaurant for lunch for a change. We made a booking at Glen Carlou based on it being 3 of 99 restaurants on TripAdvisor in Paarl. What a disappointment! We were a party of 4. The food was oily and had little bits of this and that complicating the dish. Nobody finished their meals. One dish was not even touched. The bill was paid and we left. More
