I did not like it at all. I ordered something expecting something and I got something else so bad. The kunafa is not as tasty and in fact is dry, you need two rounds pf syrup to be able to eat it. The setting is good, and probably thats the only good thing in it. I was expecting more from this labenese food shop but my expectations met the grounds. There are better options in suq waqif to eat it.

I’m surprised the Al Hallab name is even being used here, Al Hallab is a very famous Lebanese confectionery brand known for Halawat Aljibn, so that’s what we ordered. We threw it out soon after we tried it.

Our experience of Al Hallab Sweets was fantastic. Following a stroll around the souq, we sat down there for refreshments and ordered aish el saraya and Turkish coffee. The coffee was excellent and aish el saraya was heavenly. We then tried it at several other places but none compared to the one at Al Hallab Sweets. The cafe offers a very nice view of the souq and a pleasant relaxed atmosphere. The sweets and coffee are nicely presented. The staff are friendly and courteous.
