Heard a lot about this Beard Brothers BBQ in Tropicana and finally decided to go check it out. Its a simple cafe at this Tropicana Avenue (behind Coffee Bean) where its a place u make your order, pick up your food and pay for the meal. Food is good ~ the meat is slow cooked till superbly tender and yet keeping in the juice, flavor wise is ok although I am inclined towards the sweeter smokey BBQ that I grew up with in the Midwest USA. Here the BBQ is slightly more peppery. I find the sauces provided slightly watery but acceptable. Price wise I felt slightly on the higher side. 4 of us ate a platter slightly exceeding RM400. We got 200g of brisket, 200g of burnt tip, 200g of pulled lamb and 2 bones of ribs (about 650g) and the set came with a couple of corned bread, 4 rolls, some chips, a bowl of coleslaw and a bowl of mashed potatoes, some banana pudding and 4 refillable cups of lemonade. Their ribs are priced at RM31 per 100g but is also one of their most delicious piece of meat.Read more

1st time with family and a Malaysian working in Singapore because he saw the youtube and thought it is the best beef ribs in Kuala Lumpur. First shock: it is a canteen set up, not a restaurant. Then, hell, we were strongly recommended to order family set for 8 persons, price ranged RM450 to RM800, told us it is a standard platter except we need to choose 2 pieces of beef ribs from 4 identical pieces. Wonder how could it be enough for 8 to share, they said yes enough with goat meat and brisket. The bill only stated Brobdingnagian (Up to 8 people) 3 x 10g, 50g, 9 x 100g, no unit price, item description, straight to SubTotal, SSTax, rounding 0.02 and total RM799.05. We said ok, RM100 per person,... let's wait and feast. Disappointed when it came in a small tray. We were still hungry after finishing everything in the tray except the sauce. We then looked at the bill, total of 980g meat stated on the bill without item description and prices. Disposable, folks and knives hardly can cut the meat and we had to pull and chew. No air cond only fan and we were sweating. Bad: 1. Tricky Menu 2. Pay first like fast food service 3. Bill no detail of item and price 4. RM100 per person, we can have thousands of better places in Klang Valley 5. We could have survived better by ordering 8 a-la-carte. Should not have listened to their suggestions. They get you to spend the most expensive items but not the best for you. Please search more info before you decide where to dine not blinded by ads.Read more
Read reviews and promos on TV and youtube and decided to try it. Taste is commendable but venue could be airconditioned. Portion can be more generous but they can’t match Tony Romas if they are not increasing the portion size. I’m not sure if they are keen to listen to feedback if they are to improve or at lease maintain steady increase in revenue. I do hope they do...Read more
Brings Texas style food to Malaysia. Amazing effort especially the wood fire approach and long smoking periods. Only down side is they don’t serve any wine. Read more
