My room was furthest away from the lift. Not advisable for guests with walking problems. Ask for room near lifts. Duty free beer and liquor and cigarettes available from Duty free shop on ground floor.Read more
We stayed in the hotel for four nights as a family of five. The staff at the hotel are extremely pleasant and helpful and work very hard. The hotel itself though had many problems. The rooms were extremely dirty. The carpets in particular were utterly filthy. I had children with me and I would not let them go barefoot. The fixtures and fittings are extremely old and battered. The bathrooms were dingy and dirty and had mould on the grout. I am a none smoker and we were staying on a none smoking floor. However the smell of cigarettes was extremely strong a lot of the time. Another negative unfortunately was the noise. We were in a room overlooking the port. The noise from the bars and clubs combined with the hotels lobby music made it extremely loud and I mean really really loud. Booong music outside went on into the early hours every night we stayed. With children this was miserable. The outside establishment noise was in fairness not the fault of the hotel but needs to be considered if you are a family traveler. It was such a shame. I could see from the bare bones of this hotel that at one time it must have been gorgeous. It really needs some serious investment and TLC to return it to the place I am sure it one was.Read more
With prices that are fairly economical, one cannot really demand much from this hotel. Located near a ferry terminal to regional countries including off shore islands or to Indonesia, and a short drive to the Woodlands Causeway into Singapore, it’s a good bonus. It faces the northern part of the Republic of Singapore and you can easily access to another country in less than an hour depending on traffic at the immigration and roads leading to the customs. It has also a shopping mall attached with a good number of restaurants and pubs in the vicinity, you will never run out of ideas for good. In general, the lobby and on some floors smells of cigarette smoke which is pretty unpleasant to non-smokers. What disgusted me was the room carpet welcomed me with dirts and stains all over, throughout my stay I did not even dare to be barefooted on these carpeted ground! The electric kettle was rather stained and unwashed, bath towels smells weird, refrigerator reek of durian odour! There were some ants still running around on the desk and walls probably caused by food left behind by previous guests. Bathroom is nicely tiled and renovated, bathtub looks acceptable but you can see some of the fittings are showing signs of wear-and-tear. Toilet door was not able to shut completely and shower curtain kind of yellowish and dirty. But once again, with prices like this, what much can you say? It’s overall a little lower than average but sufficient for a 3-day 2 night stay.Read more
Quite an old hotel. Seemed not upgraded for a long time. Overall experience not good. But it’s a cheap hotel to just sleep a night. 1)Long check in time even at 11pm as there is only one staff at reception attending to all matters including phone calls and even housekeeping calls because no one is picking up housekeeping number. Waited 20mins to check in. 2)Deluxe room size is decent and can put an extra bed with walking space. But lousy housekeeping. Called many times but no one pick up. No bath towels No bath mat No face towels No fridge No waste bin in room nor toilet No tissue 3)TV controller not working. Limited channels, no cable channels at all. 4)Hotel WiFi stopped working around midnight and it didn’t recover even I check out. This is worst! 5)Gym aircon was so stuffy and hot. No water dispenser nor towels. Machines were not cleaned. 6)Bathroom switch between shower and bath taps were not working so though there is a bathtub, we can’t use it. 7)No power points at bedsides. 8)Only plus point is the breakfast promotion for Hari Raya. We got a 50% discount, per person RM15 Nett. Breakfast spread is ok with live egg station. But don’t expect a wide international spread. Just a standard local spread. A filling breakfast if you try all stations. But I will not come back again unless they do a total revamp of the hotel. Read more
My partner checked in on the hotel first. The check in staff in from my partner that I.should check in since 8 of august when I book the room from 9- 12 AUg. I also select prefer bed as 1 double bed. She select 2 single bed for a couple? and also inform my partner that I have book single bed . I have no idea why the staff don't know how to read on the booking detail herself and check before saying anything out. I am fully aware tha the hotel maybe fully occupied during the weekend, but informing the guest that they didnt select the room type when they already put in the special request is not something I expected from the hotel that people rate it at 4* This will definitely be my last time with this hotelRead more
