The room was amazing - modern, clean, perfect. Had we spent the entire weened in the room it would have been a 5-star experience. The customer service was also great, all the staff were kind and helpful. However, they are let down by the food options available at the resort and their approach to their beach and pool facilities. The pool area is great, beautiful and big. The only problem is that you can hear two sets of music — the pool music and the general resort music. They could've easily resolved this issue by playing the same music on both speakers. The beach is nice, but they didn't take advantage of it well. There were a couple of umbrellas and loungers. Not enough umbrellas for all the loungers, not all the loungers had cushions, and it would've been nice if they offered drinks down there. The dinner buffet has limited options and the food is edible, but with the quality I would have paid max 50 riyals per person. It was in fact 150 riyals per person. Breakfast was included in our room fee. It was fine, except the one morning my husband's pancakes were sour and the next morning they advertised waffles, but it was just thick pancakes in the shape of a waffle. The beach restaurant where we had dinner the last night was also a letdown. We had a seafood platter that wasn't very nice. It was cold, there was meant to be calamari on it but there was none, and the general quality of the meal was sub par. Again, the disappointing dinner worked out to 150-200 riyals per person.
All in all, I would definitely return to the resort for it's lovely rooms, but next time I'll bring noise cancelling headphones for poolside and go offsite/order takeout to be delivered and have it in the room.
