Due Mari

It's one of the worst choices ever .. The dress code is not applied, so you will end up with shorts, slippers, and bathing suits !! The food is lacking flavour and totally not up to Jumairah chain standards.. The location is understaffed also, i.e., only 2 waiters were available. The access through the pool is a nightmare 😫

Definitely not the best italian in town. For the food, some might find it nice, but it is not the italian of my taste. I am used to italian food that is very rich in taste, fresh, organic, and light on the digestion. Did not feel this in here. The food tatsted closer to the refrigerated precooked meals. I will not go again, and will not recommend it. Though, the staff were lovely.

Currently sitting at the restaurant. We were told we couldn’t have the set menu (although we are half board) and had to order a la carte. We were further told “boss was angry” and that is how our journey at this restaurant started. Had the food been good, I would not have said anything. We were given a few pieces of bread after 20 minutes of us sitting. Our starters arrived 10 minutes after that, the calamari was tasteless and very elastic, while the mozarella with its tomato sauce was tasteless. The veal escalope later arrived. If you were to flatten a piece of meat and fill it with Panko, you’d probably get better results (we returned the dish). The second main was a spaghetti with pesto, relatively tasteless too. The third main never arrived as they could not find it on their system… we did order it but asked them not to bother. So we are on our way to the lobby trying to get a snack and a coffee. You deserve minus 5 stars

I had the misfortune of dining at the highly overrated Due Mari restaurant at Jumeirah Gulf of Bahrain Hotel and Spa. The experience was utterly abysmal from start to finish. To begin with, the Salmone Puttanesca I ordered was an inedible disaster. The fish was overcooked and fell apart into dry flakes, and the puttanesca sauce was clearly produced from a jar. There was nothing "authentic" about this dish. The servers were unprofessional, inattentive and seemed unhappy to be there. They failed to refill drinks and had to be chased for the check repeatedly. To top it off, the celebrity chef was nowhere to be found. For the high prices charged, the chef's expertise and personal involvement in the kitchen is expected but clearly missing here. Overall, Due Mari is a waste of space and serves disgusting food with an unprofessional staff while lacking the talents of the chef it proclaims to feature. I will not be repeating the mistake of ever setting foot in this poor excuse for a restaurant again. This review should serve as a strong warning to anyone considering a meal at Due Mari. Save your money and stomach and go elsewhere!
