Hai Wang Seafood

It was not my first time visiting them. They have a very interesting concept of a dinner place together with a karaoke room. They really bring the best of both worlds together and every meeting there turned out fun and fulfilling. Would recommend their shrimp paste chicken as well as the tofu with chai poh. Their ribs and broccoli with scallops are amazing too. Special shoutout to both the cereal sotong and salted egg Sotong. Both dishes are delicious as well! The ngoh Hiang was pretty average. Can skip. Otherwise their service, food and atmosphere was great and I will be sure to patronize them again!

Not my first time to this restaurant but this will be my first review. The food here is awesome and highly recommended although there are some dishes that were less enjoyed but a commendable attempt. The must try would be their spicy chicken! Crispy deep fried pieces of chicken on top of a bed of dried chilli fried with peppercorns, sliced crispy garlic and peanuts. This dish left two of my guests hunting for more garlic and peanuts within the "needle in the haystack" scenario as their chopsticks battle royale through the bed if dried chilli. Lucky we reordered this dish and they were satisfied with their finds from the two plates. We also ordered the curry fish head. Now you might ask why come to a "Chinese style" restaurant to try their curry fish head? Well, if their fish steamboat is anything to go by why not give it a go. We were not disappointed. The gravy was thick and creamy. Rich and delicious! A lemak that only a Malaysian chef could prepare. (hint hint) The proof of the pudding is always in the eating and the bottom of the claypot is always a joy of any good hosts. If we had some baguette, I think we could have made the bowl only marginally cleaner as we slurped up all the goodness of the curry sauce. I had a beef dish the last time which was super tendered but ordered the black pepper beef this time around, hoping for the best but alas, it was disappointing not because it wasn't tasty but because it wasn't as good as I remembered... Sad and we were too full to order the original beef dish. Final die for dish would be their fried kalian. Oh my goodness! They deep fry some of the leaves to form a crispy savoury topping on top of their tender kailan stems. Am amazing dish and worthy of any of the big branded restaurant Vege dishes. They didn't even need to throw in the scallops or prawns to garnish to upsell this dish and make it overtly unaffordable. A simple vegetable prepared in a very simple yet innovative way. Yes, it did take effort to prepare but no, they didn't charge a premium for presenting this dish to us. Having said that, one could go affordable and a setting for 8 hungry adults could go for a reasonably as a couple of hundred dollars (relatively speaking). But it could also go much higher if one tries the usual premium seafood. My dining habits trend to be more economical so I'm looking for value for money and this place certainly gives good value for money. Kudos to Michelle and team for a wonderful dinner.

Really best fish soup I've had!!! Service is great too. I love their chai poh omelette too. My third visit today and won't be my last! Also free soup refills!!! Really great quality and worth the price!

We came here to celebrate a friend's birthday. The restaurant owner was very friendly and hospitable. The food here was of good quality and value for money. There was a lot of good promotions for crab as well. We spent about $120 and got to use the KTV room for 6 pax. Sound system was decent and rooms were very clean. Definitely coming back again! There's a also an open air carpark behind the restaurant if you are driving.

Very tasteful food ! Love the 鱼头炉 with herbal soup! The black pepper crabs is superb too. Vietnamese spring rolls is authentic too, ( just found out that d boss is a Vietnamese ). Prawn paste chicken is tasty as well . The New England IPA beer is even better than Hoegaarden ! Oh, there’re actually free KTV rooms upstairs where we can dine & sing at the same time or after dinner ! Overall had a very satisfying dinner, will definitely come back again, maybe try the KTV 😋😂
