I do not know where to start but will try. I had an account opened in 2020 June for Hello Fresh and cancelled after a couple of orders because orders were wrong. I saw an offer and logged in again 3 years later (perhaps they had improved who knows) it said because I had an account (my old one) it would not give me the offer. However, by logging on I evidently activated an AUTOMATIC order. I did not choose any menu or order and logged off again. Suddenly 4 days later, today, I receive a notice from Yodel to say my Hello Fresh order is being delivered today. I rang Hello Fresh who say it is too late to cancel what I DID NOT order. The AUTO order menus are Chefs choice and triggered when I opened the account and DID NOT CHOOSE a menu. They then went on to charge my EXPIRED card and when this was found as expired they charged my partners card that is linked to my card account BUT HAD NEVER been linked to Hello Fresh. My bank are now raising an investigation and Hello Fresh are not refunding the charge (but offer £10 back). BE VERY AWARE when you open an old account it triggers an AUTO order and will charge you even if card is expired (my bank said they pay a merchantservice charge to be able to move charges to a linked or new card associated to that account) - I am HORRIFIED to find this out ... So BE AWARE. Anyway the UNWANTED ORDER was dumped on my doorstep (Hello Fresh said if I do not want it give it to someone else - but still charging me ! ) GUESS WHAT the chefs choice of food for me does not even match the menu cards included... UNBELIEVABLE Anyway just wanted to warn people if you you use and stop using Hello Fresh - REMOVE any cards and do not reopen app again or it will trigger an auto order. DIABOLICAL way to run a company.

I’ve been absolutely appalled with Hello Fresh customer service. On multiple occasions, items are missing in the box. Receiving the risotto recipe items without the risotto rice took the biscuit. I was offered £2 as compensation but I don’t know how Hello Fresh thought I would manage to cook their risotto recipe without risotto rice 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ The whole point about services like Hello Fresh is the convenience. Absolutely didn’t deliver. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re looking for convenience.

I've just read all the negative reviews and thought I'd post a more positive one to balance things out. (Edited from 4 star to 2 star, please see bottom of post) To be fair, I can understand some of the negative feedback having used hello fresh several times over the years. This is different to how we normally shop, and let's be honest, not many of us like change. You need to pay attention when ordering as some items are premium. It's not a trick to scam us, they just offer premium dishes as an alternative we can choose if we want to. I have accidentally ordered a few, but that's on me and my bad eyesight. I would highly recommend some of the premium dishes. But if you're on a budget like me, pay attention when ordering. You can check the total amount payable before you send your weekly order to them. Loads of the reviews mention orders not arriving, missing items or missing cards. I have never experienced any of these issues and I've used hello fresh several times over the years. The one thing that can be annoying is that they will send their recommendations if you forget to order. I don't like this. You can skip a week or as many weeks as you like, but you have to remember to do this. I'm not that organised and have received boxes of stuff I wouldn't have ordered normally and kicked myself when it arrived. But that's on me rather than hello fresh. I would recommend hello fresh to a friend. I love pretending to know what I'm doing in the kitchen, I put an apron on, get the tunes on and follow the instructions on the card. I love that there's no waste, the wife thinks I'm awesome when I plate up a restaurant quality meal for her. And as a food snob myself, I have cooked better meals at home than most of the pubs and restaurants I go to. This is my third time using hello fresh, I will go away and come back many times in the future. It's different, it's fun, it's delicious and I would definitely recommend. Edit: ironically, after posting this, my experience went downhill quickly. Items missing from meals, cards missing from the box, and the standard of food deteriorated quickly. We tried to contact customer services and were fobbed off with £3.50 added to our account, and on another occasion an investigation raised with the distribution centre. After several instances of food that wasn't fresh, or even edible, missing ingredients and cards, and a lack of good customer service I would NOT recommend hello fresh to a friend. The wife and I have cancelled our subscription and moved over to gusto which so far seems to have a lot more choice and better quality food.

Don't pick Hello Fresh I ordered a Hello Fresh box with a spinach and ricotta ravioli recipe, but when I opened the spinach bag, I was appalled to see that it was full of holes and caterpillars. It looked like the spinach had been eaten by the bugs before it was packed. I had to throw away the whole bag and use my own spinach instead. The ravioli was also bland and dry. This is unacceptable for a service that claims to deliver fresh and quality ingredients. I contacted their customer service, but they were rude and unhelpful. They refused to refund me or send me a replacement. They also accused me of lying and trying to scam them. They hung up on me without resolving the issue. To make matters worse, I noticed that the size of the portions are getting smaller every time I order from them. They are cutting corners and ripping off their customers. I will never order from Hello Fresh again and I advise everyone to stay away from them. They are a waste of money and time.

Tried to cancel- apparently only paused my box- tried to call 4days in advance explaining I had moved house, still dropped it off anyway to rot outside... and absolutely no refund after being with them for 2 years. Loyal customer? Apparently not
