Hongthai Thai & Chinese Kitchen

Located bit away from town center and always calm! Part of hotel property however service is very slow. They lack kitchen staff it seems. Visit only if you have couple of hours in hand😊. Have to appreciate the taste of food that’s simply superb! Priced bit on the higher side if compared with other famous Thai joints in town.

My wife and I, have been a couple of time to the place. - The first time the food was a disaster. Luckily we had a nice waiter. - Second time the meat in my green pepper corn dish was some king of topside pieces of meet cooked in a stir fried. (usually used as stew) chewy as possible. The meat was basically not eatable. However the dumpling this time was homemade. So we at least thought that over 3 dishes, we found something that was okay! - Third time we place an order and come for pick up. Apparently the chef or the in charge didn’t ready his message. So we had to wait the same time if not longer than we would have if we just turn up and order. This time the quality of the dumpling was well under seasoned. Not to say tasteless. - Fourth we turned up at 9.20 and the place was shut. - Fifth and believe will be the last until someone is taking charge of this place. I call and ask for 2 portions of dumpling (as you can see I am despair to find a place to eat on this side of town) I am been told that it will take 20 minutes to prepare a dish that steam over 6-8 minutes depending on the size. As they have only one chef. Additionally, if you try the place. Your waiter will be the spending his entire evening in the kitchen as they have only one chef. So you better be ready to get up a few time if you need anything. We have been as patient as you can be. We have given this place more chance than I would usually give. But honestly at this stage, the place is kind of not worth any better than any other snack place in the area.

the service is terrible. We order hotpot and it took and hour and a half for them to set up the hotpot and only 30 mims for us to finishing eating. food taste and quality is just mediocre, not worth it for the price they charge. Fish and squid smells off and the meat is just too tough. Best to go to other Thai restaurants than dine here.

The food is awesome.. but we waited for a very long time to get our order and the management should do something about the kitchen smoke, it's really too much.
