A relaxing outing experience so up-close and personal with nature. One is able to appreciate the value that this gorgeous little island adds to the preserving the life of its inhabitants! Superb photo opportunities, a wealth of knowledge shared by the guides, a gentle walk around the island as well as a little boat ride make for a wonderful family outing!More
Situated in the heart of Century City, Intaka Island is the perfect place to experience nature's tranquility. My husband & I visited early on a Sunday & were the only visitors until midday. We especially enjoyed watching the herons from the bird hide, as well as spotting a gorgeous Pied Kingfisher. The variety of birdsong as you stroll along the pathways is a balm for the soul in today's fast-paced life. Stunning views & ample space to enjoy a packed picnic lunch (provide your own), they also offer canal boat tours & full moon guided walks. Highly recommend!More
As a hardened birder, was blown away by the visit - well-laid out paths, excellent sign-posting and great bird hides. Recorded close to 60 species of birds in and around the sanctuary. The environmental education which is on the go is an inspiration. A safe and pleasant place to enjoy nature within an urban jungle!!More

I planned a trip to Intaka island recently for a club of which I am a member. We did a pre trip visit to check out the facilities and found that they were Ok. I made a provisional booking for 15 to 25 people which was accepted. I then received a phone call at he end of the following week cancelling our booking because they had "double booked". No apology.More
