You are right in the centre of Stone Town here and yet only a stone’s throw from the sea. The whole hotel is wonderfully atmospheric with rich colours and a great selection of Javed’s photography and Tanzanian artefacts. We were lucky to have the Princess Salme suite which we adored and was beautifully appointed and had everything we needed. The rooftop terrace here although small compared to others has one of the best views looking out over the old fort to the sea and the islands. Magical. Great staff and food round off the picture for this great value gem of a hotel.Read more
A gorgeous property in the heart of Stone Town with a rooftop restaurant serving fresh food and a great breakfast. I was given the Stanley suite on the 2nd floor which was just stunning. The building lovingly restored is just beautiful with gorgeous nooks and crannies. I didnt have a spa treatment but i heard from guests that its first class. You are in heart of stone town and yet its quiet. You are right onto Gizenga street which is full of street traders selling everything from spices to Maasai necklaces. I would highly recommend this property.Read more
This historic building is really beautiful. It has a nice atmosphere - a winding staircase leading up to the generous sized rooms which are nicely decorated. The breakfast was very slow when we were there - one morning we left without breakfast before our tour despite leaving ourselves 50 mins to eat. However we mentioned this to the management and the problem was resolved. Our luggage arrived late from Precision Air during our stay and Mwanasha on reception was super helpful - she called the airline loads for us and didn’t stop until the bags were returned! Thanks for a lovely stay :) Read more
We conveniently arranged to leave our luggage at this hotel, because we had stayed at the sister hotel in Matemwe Beach. Staff were so helpful. We decided to eat at the restaurant and were delightfully surprised to find it was on a rooftop. Definitely worth a look over the fort and the city. The food was great as well.Read more
Had dinner and lunch here as well as drinks. The food was excellent and the service was also v good. The staff are friendly and chatty (especially Samson!). I would highly recommend this place, it has a relaxing atmosphere and the pool is lovely 😊Read more
