We stopped here for a lovely lunch, the food was very good and the staff helpful. The menus are looking a little tatty though and could really do with an update.Read more
My daughter and I visited Jamie’s as we’d been previously to the one in Sydney but the standard of the one in Singapore was ell below our expectations. There was all of this seating area on the waterfront that was free to sit in and when we asked, the staff said that section was closed, effectively leaving no option for al fresco dining. Instead we had to sit inside the restaurant with the air con blasting. I was Freezing cold and complained and they have me a thin blanket but still this was not good enough and who really wants to sit out at dinner with a blanket wrapped around them..really? The pasta dish my daughter ate was awful, she said that it tasted like reheated pasta and the prawns were not fresh but small, frozen ones. I would expect more when you’re paying $29 for a bowl of pasta. The polenta chips were ok, nice and hot and a good texture but lacking flavour and a dipping sauce. My quinoa salad was average and lacking any flavour. I honestly make a nicer quinoa salad at home. I have totally written Jamie’s Italian off..never again! Read more
The garlic bread is a must-order! Pastas were quite nice. Service was average, difficult to get staff attention, had to help myself to the iced water. Seated pretty quickly on a Saturday during lunch hour.Read more
The restaurant was very noisy perhaps due to its layout that amplified noises. Food was average, as we thought Jamie Oliver’s food would be spectacular. All in all, a disappointing experience. Read more
Every few months we risk Jamies Italian at Vivo, and have for years. Either I'm stubborn, or have a false sense of optimism, because 4 out of 5 times, the service, or kitchen staff let down what is otherwise a good menu. On our last visit (in August) we were seated quickly, it was the weekend, but a slow patch, and there were not many guests seated. We hailed staff several times and after 10 minutes, managed to get menus (which weren't given when they seated us... a few minutes later we ordered (a kids pizza for my daughter and a SUPER GREEN VEGE burger for myself. ) as well as drinks and some water. After 10 more minutes, and failed attempts at hailing staff who were not serving anyone, I went to get the water myself, and was scolded by staff, who followed me with two half full glasses (although there seemed to be water jugs available they did not want to provide these). Eventually half of my daughters order arrived, and was followed by an unappetising 'shake salad' 5 minutes later and a very small drink. My meal arrived nearly 10 minutes later, and was thrown together, and not appetising or tasty at all. The over all impression of the burger was 'soggy'. We also had to pursue staff to get the right amount of cutlery for the table as we were missing a knife. We have had these experiences at Jamies before (but usually the food saves the service), and have tried telling management, writing to their site, etc, but in the end, they just tell us that they cant find good staff, and hope to improve in the future. This visit we decided that we just have to find another kids friendly restaurant in the area, and considering the other choices in Vivo, have decided to avoid it at meal times altogether.Read more
