Hi everyone, we do one week every year in Maldives since 5 years and we are now able to compare. of course the Lux hotel is a 5 star and is great. all depends what you are looking for and what you are able to do. let me try to give you a good overview of the island. first the place : you need a seaplane. great welcome, quick transfer, nice people and good surprise a lounge with nice food ans drinks which is good after a flight. you arrive in a very nice site. beach are beautiful all around the island and one part of the island is just sand and cristal water. beautiful. unfortunately, if you are looking for fish, except small reef shark, you can t spend your time looking at fish as there is none. again water is fantastic but not fish. only way to find fish is to go by boat to the reef or dive. if like my wife you can t go in water above 1.5m you won t see fish. additional, the island is windy. i don t know if it was because of the weather but it seems it is often like this with many clouds (we had friends in the north with a better weather) food is great, restaurant perfect except you need to book at the start of your trip but this can be understandable the island is bigger than what we used to see before (island is 2km) rooms (overwater villa) are ok but honestly need to be refreshed. we have upgrade our room after 4 days to be in the villa near the sand part because the wind didn t allow us to go in the water while in the villa and no fish which is a shame. bars are good, some nice animations. massage are great but really expensive much more than usual and if you want to be above the water, you pay an extra... this is unacceptable but that s the rules. the service is great people are really nice. scuba dives are nice but not the best one i have seen in maldives overall the island is nice and beautiful but we would not come back as it was not what we were hoping to live. enjoy FranckRead more

We couldn't have chosen a better resort for our first visit to the Maldives. The resort is very beautiful. Our Beach Pavilion accommodation was spacious and clean. Most importantly, our bed was wonderfully comfortable. The Lux is a very well managed operation - excellent service delivered by clearly well trained staff, managing the guest experience very professionally. We enjoyed the variety of restaurants and the all inclusive option met our needs very well - the wine list is very good. All in all, a pleasure. Read more
I wonder if we'll ever get bored of this place! From the moment our sea plane arrived to some friendly and familiar faces waving a welcome, we just slotted back in to our home from home. Our shoes came off and didn't go back on for ten days. Big thanks to Mamoun who helped with every request and also to the amazing staff that made it such a lovely sixth stay. A special shout out for Aladdin who is always the perfect host and always makes us laugh and our son feel special. The food was great and our favourite restaurants are Senses, Beach Rouge and Alegria - well worth the all inclusive! Thanks all and see you for lucky number seven soon!! The Burns family xRead more
Lux is a wonderful big island, with many restaurants and several bars. The food is great with excellent quality. We have chosen all-inclusive, and we are very pleased with the choice of alcoholic beverages and wines. The staff is very courteous and adequate. Many thanks to Cara who took care of us all the time. If you want to spend more than 6 days in the Maldives this is the best place to do it. I sincerely advise everyone to visit Lux. When everything in the coronavirus is over we will come back again.Read more
