This review is for the cafe at Neon Galaxy .
I think it's called Chickadees.
My son recently visited this establishment with high hopes of an infinite slushie experience, thanks to their tempting promotional signage that promised "40AED refill for life." Little did I know, it was a bait-and-switch game that would put even the slyest carnival tricksters to shame!
You see, the moment my son went to the machine with the reusable cup, fully expecting to sip on unlimited slushies for his play session , he was hit with a shocking plot twist. The employee demanded another 20AED for the refill .
As per my understanding , "refill for life" typically means that you can continuously or repeatedly refill a product for free.
The staff explained that for 40AED, you can reuse the cup for a refill , but you still have to pay for refilling it every single time ,
while the non-refillable route is a mere 20AED.
What truly confounds me is that both the 40AED and 20AED options come with the same chicken-themed cup. Could someone kindly explain why I should pay an additional 20AED to reuse my cup if I want another slushie? I mean I'm not exactly the most environmentally conscious person who would willingly spend the extra 20AED just to avoid adding another chicken-themed cup to the landfill.
In other words, they're essentially making you cough up extra cash for the privilege of saving them money by your own cup. Does that make any logical sense to you? Because it certainly doesn't to me.
In summary, if you're seeking slushie satisfaction without the head-scratching absurdity, I'd advise giving this "deal" a miss.
P.S.: My husband took it upon himself to speak to the manager and request the removal of the misleading signage. He's convinced he'll make a difference.
Care to make a friendly bet on whether that sign will still be around after three months? 🤣
