Pienaar & Son Distilling Co.

Visited for the gin tasting. Got a mini Distilling Sect tour, too, and I loved it! I highly recommend their Bread and Butter XO Brandy as well as their Barrel aged coffee sachets.

We stopped by Pienaar & Son Distilling Co. to sample their range of spirits whilst visiting V&A Waterfront in Cape Town. They offer a range of tastings in the distillery itself, and although small, it was a charming environment. The gentleman who served us was very friendly and attentive. He was able to talk us through the various Gins that we had during our tasting, discussed the ways in which they make their Gin and Vodka, and also gave us a little bit history to the company. All three Gins that I tasted at Pienaar & Son Distilling Co. were fantastic – and I’d happily have them all again. We also got a sample of their Vodka which is made using Maize, and it was smooth and easy to drink. Overall, the tasting experience is great value, and you get a great sample of their bestsellers. They’re a great local business and what they produce is fantastic. You should definitely stop by for a visit if you’re looking to discover some exciting Gins from Cape Town.

Great little gem, authentic experience and even greater gin. My two favourite experiences. Do yourself a favour and check out this family run distillery located at Makers Landing. Chilled, laid back vibes and their gin is probably one of the best I've had to date. Will definitely be going back soon.

I recently visited Pienaar and Sons at the V&A Waterfront's Makers Landing for a gin tasting experience, and I can confidently say it was a good time. We were greeted by our host Adrian who was the sole staff member on duty that day, yet he effortlessly managed the entire place while ensuring each guest was well taken care of and having a fantastic time. The gin tasting itself was a journey through a delightful selection of gin varieties, each with its unique flavor profile and story.

We had the privilege to visit pienaar and son today and what a great experience. Mario was a gem a fantastic and knowledgeable host. We did the tasting and I honestly can't say what was my favourite gin as each one was unique and delicious. The brandy is the only brandy I would ever drink neat and their cocktails are great...as are their prices. I honestly cannot fault them in any way. Keep it up guys!!!
