Fine dining at its best and at a very reasonable cost. Outstanding Lobster thermador omelette - so tasty. However topped off with a flawless Fillet Steak with Red Wine sauce. Beautifully cooked - allowed to rest. Great service as well and no idea why this restaurant isn’t busier as for me one of the best in Dubai. More
It was my Birthday yesterday, my husband decided to treat me to what we expected to be a truly magical experience despite the huge expense and I must say the food was delicious and lived up to this BUT ....... the restaurant manager knowingly went out of his way to ruin our entire evening! Beware of the beautifully highly polished slippery marble floor when you enter the restaurant especially if wearing high heels! I slipped but luckily was supported by my husband so I didn’t crash to the floor. I just felt a muscle strain in my left thigh. We didn’t blame the restaurant at the time but maybe this was the problem as they knew the fault was the floor and therefore theirs. The manager immediately insisted he call a paramedic but I felt that was rather dramatic, excessive and unnecessary and simply asked for some ibuprofen. It was at this point that his attitude towards me changed and he became argumentative and downright rude. He made me feel like a little girl being reprimanded at school. I got the distinct impression that the reason for this was because I was a woman who had disobeyed him! His distaste for my husband and I was obvious and continued all night until right to the very end when he caused a considerable issue over payment of the ibruprofen. Having already paid the bill of over 1,700AED (£340) and left the prerequisite expected tip of 200AED (£40) he had the temerity to ask for the cost of the ibruprofen 16.50AED (£3). After we questioned this extra cost he then launched into a lecture in business studies and economics. This continued to right to the end of the evening when we walked back down the highly polished slippery marble floor once more. My husband in fact ended up giving him a 100 dirham note just to make the point that it wasn’t about the money for us but him completely missing the moral point! Simply unacceptable behaviour! Gary Rhodes would turn in his grave if he knew this...RIP. We will not be returning!More
What a beautiful evening we had. Everything about our evening was wonderful. Food, service and atmosphere was impeccable More
We visited twice during our 10 night stay at Grosvenor House & once again the food and wine were excellent. The white tomato soup is the signature of this beautiful restaurant and we always look forward to this. The decor and ambience is one of peace & serenity. RW1 have first class staff and the service is impeccable! We look forward to our next visit!More
We visited for our anniversary dinner early in the evening recently, having never been to one of the late, great, Gary Rhodes' restaurants. We were not disappointed. The moment we arrived the staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, with many classic twists and combinations of British classics. The presentation and attention to detail was also excellent. It's definitely a place we will be visiting again.More
