My husband and I both had body massages here and both were excellent. We travel internationally a great deal so often are jet-lagged and sore. I had a Thai massage today with Kadek & it was fabulous! Cannot thank her enough. The spa is spotlessly clean and well set up as well with steam and sauna to enjoy.More
Shangrila has been our favorite ever since. From the interiors to exterior design. Every corner is picture perfect. I would like to personally thank the staffs who helped my sister’s post wedding experience very memorable. From the check in counter Ms. Intan for giving us warm welcome when we came in and upgraded our room and arranged the bed with lovely arrangements, to the manager Mr Ahmed Issa for extending the stay until 6pm! The couple really had a great time! Housekeeping and the staff on the beach and pool outside all did their part very well in maintaining the place very neat. Thank you guys! See you again next time 🥳❤️More
In all my visit with Shangri-La Abu Dhabi, may it be business or pleasure. There's this one guy that stood out. His name is Mukerem. He's one of the gandola (boat) operators. He accommodated all our small requests, he's very knowledgeable on his job and he's a people person. A quality that ALL hotelier should have. He's very far from that arab guy in the beach, who drove us away from the place like we weren't checked in and we weren't paying. I just didn't waste time to ask for his name. I hope Mukerem will be promoted to teach EVERYONE at the hotel to be down to earth and take the qualities of being a real HOSPITABLE HOTELIER.More
We stayed here for 9 days and really enjoyed our holiday. The hotel is clean, spacious and beautiful. Our room was lovely. The staff are very helpful, accommodating and cannot do enough for you. The food in the buffet restaurant was good and had a large variety. Only wish they would label all the dishes in the dinner sitting which we had to constantly ask what meat or soup it was! Otherwise an excellent time was had by us👍🏽More
Having travelled to the UAE since 1999 I've stayed at & experienced many hotels in both Dubai & Abu Dhabi, however this was my first experience of a Shangri-la & i had high expectations. We chose to stay here as although an older hotel compared to all the newer hotels, we liked the Arabian architecture of this hotel & its local cultural details & charm. Upon entering its vast lobby you are greeted with grandeur, the lobby is beautiful & well maintained. We arrived at 7am & sadly were not greeted with a welcome drink or towel, which was the 1st time I've experienced this in the UAE. Apparently it happens for guests arriving after 9am, which would be something I'd say needs changing so all guests have the same arrival experience. Staff at reception were helpful however I think being shown to the lifts upon receiving the room card would help as we got lost trying to navigate ourselves to the room. The rooms itself are spacious, clean & welcoming. They are an older style & perhaps an update on furnishings would be necessary in the future, however they have a lovely Arabic charm with lovely views over the sea and glimpses of the Grande Mosque. The cleanliness is excellent, the hotel cleaners do an incredible job, bathrooms are spotless with nice toiletries and linen is lovely. Lots of attention to detail and 5 star touches. The hotel pool is where we spent our days & it's truly a relaxing place to be. The infinity pool has beautiful sea views and the pool staff are just incredible, the sun loungers were all replaced whilst we were there & they have good maintenance overall. The pool bar serves wonderful Mojitos & we cannot recommend enough the pool bar staff. Every one of them offers the highest level of service & are so kind, helpful, professional & just wonderful people doing an amazing job. We truly would come back here just for this poolside experience. The hotel boats that serve the waterway canal ride are a lovely touch and the staff that run the boats are exceptional. They work so hard and are so helpful with photos and looking after the guests. The food at the Shangri-la is excellent, the breakfast and dinner buffet at Sofra Bid is addictive! The food is varied & caters for most dietary requirements too. We cannot fault the choice of food or the quality, everyday was something new & as for the deserts, well they were just outstanding! The mangers were excellent at maintaining service levels & Bekhruz was an exceptional manager that looked after us so well. He made our experience so good that we ate there 8 of the 9 nights we were there & never tired of it! Bekhruz is a credit to the Shangri-la & his team are too. Only one night was spent as the equally wonderful Chinese restaurant where the food was out of this world with the most attentive staff, if we were there more nights we would definitely have gone back. Overall our experience at the Shangri-la was amazing. Having stayed at many 5 star luxury hotels over the years I always have high expectations of service, standard and experience. After a few minor service issues at the beginning of our stay, everything was addressed to our satisfaction & I can honestly say that our stay was excellent. The hotel mangers were efficient & swift in addressing our concerns & made our stay an everlasting memory. I would highly recommend this hotel and the staff that work there, they made us want to return, which we most definitely will. Thank you Shangri-la for an unforgettable honeymoon.More
