The Hidden Forest Wildlife Sanctuary

We spent the most amazing day here as a family ! From the moment we arrived until we left everything was excellent. The reception, the tour guide, the knowledge of the staff, {AMAAAAZING Pizza's !!!} and of course wonderful to see how unlike other establishments, here they work tirelessly to ensure that the wildlife, are just that - wild , as it should be. The sanctuary is easily accessible with well maintained tar roads right up to reception. The staff were all on hand to answer any questions, and were friendly and courteous ! There is a wide range souvenir shop with prices to match the SOUTH AFRICAN folk, and for once not aimed at our international visitors ! Well worth it, be sure to book ahead as we did.

What a great experience. We saw all 5 of the types of monkeys that are in the forest. It's wonderful that they can roam free. Our guide, Melody was so knowledgeable and interesting. Remember to wear flat closed shoes.

It's okay. I love what is being done for the animals and I understand that keeping the facility running surely costs a lot of money. I also understand that from a consumer's perspective the experience was not necessarily worth the money spent on both the transport to the middle of nowhere and the entry tickets. I also question if it is healthy for animals that used to be in human captivity to be exposed to a stream of tourist groups, some showed clear signs of distress at our existence in their space. This being said, i feel like staff are doing the best they can for these monkeys. Note to parents: please stop your kids from trying to interact with the animals out of respect to the animals.

Amazing experience! Great guided tour through the hidden forest looking for monkeys. Finished off with a tasty pizza 🍕 and a ice cool beer at their cafe at reception. Lovely shop full of good food quality gifts and souvenirs. The cafe has a really nice play area for kids to enjoy while you eat. Pizzas are well priced.

What a fantastic day out. It so special to see anything done with wildlife done properly. The care taken to create as natural habitat was amazing to see. Our guide Melody was incredible knowledgeable and really spent the effort to share information on the flora and fauna of the area. Highly recommend a visit to this beautiful sanctuary
