The name of the open concept cafe is amusing. It called itself The Humble Pie, then added The Ugly Cake Shop.
Wonder why any business would call itself The Ugly Cake Shop!! It's not ugly but a very considerate cafe!
It was only 10.15 am when I arrived after settling some matters at the embassy. I was quite hungry and the cafe only starts operating at 11 am. I was here yesterday and saw the shepherd pies, pork and beef cottage pies. The Irish pie was not available.
The operator was having her breakfast. I asked to sit to wait till she started business as I was quite hungry and won't want to move around elsewhere. She graciously allowed me.
Once she finished her breakfast, she took my order. It was only 10.30 am! I was delighted at this kind gesture. Kudos to the company who has this kind of staff.
The beef pie was good for people like me who want to customise my taste. It was just nice, but I added some black pepper and a little salt.
The cafe latte was nice. After recovering from CoVid, somehow coffee doesn't taste the same anymore. However, this one tasted so good and I was satisfied.
Overall, my food is healthy. No harm dropping by for Irish pies, which according to the operator, sells off fast. So don't wait.
