I went 2 nights on the trott, night one 400g South African fillet. If you have ever eat SA fillet before you will know it literally melts in your mouth, this didn't.... It was cooked nice but was very chewey, also had a strange taste of what I can only say is washing up liquid. Tonight I had brisket cheese gravey starter, this was lovely. Then I tried the full rack of beef ribs, I had them a few months back.... Again cooked perfect, but no actual taste, bland.... And dishwasher taste again, I don't know if its the wooden boards it's served on but seems odd to me. The complimentary bread and borewors are a nice touch, probably would visit again, a shame.... The full rack of beef ribs where brilliant, fall off the bone and a big portion too, it was basted on the top with some Bbq sauce but apart from that top layer there was no taste. No slow cooked charcoal taste, I had to ask for some extra sauce just to get through it.... Good service, would go again to try something else off what looks a really good menu. More
